My situation was identical. I still have the old chunky ps2 which is hooked up to my 24 inch pc monitor that I use for retro gaming. I have my ps3 hooked up to a 50 incher and use it for everything except playing ps1,ps2 games since they look better on a smaller screen.
This makes a lot of sense. There are tons of AAA PS3 games coming out this year and beyond. Take a look at the PSP release calendar...not quite the same now is it? The allocation of resources and man power will likely shift towards the development of new PSP titles. Also, these two titles can be put on again. Nothing is written in stone game heads!
CHRONO CROSS still blows me away. I wish some of the older rpgs would come to PSN or perhaps get a psp continuation treatment.
Insomniac, kojima productions, and now infinity ward are the best studios around. Ted Price belongs in a league with Hideo Kojima, I kid you not.

Yeah, they have been coming for over two years now.
GTA4 does not deserve a 10. The story is good at best. Missions become repetitive and dull and online is slow. Everyone I know has played the game for few hours and put it away with no incentive to come back. I personally stopped enjoying the GTA series after Vice City.

Man I still have a copy of Shenmue for DC in my closet somewhere. Never played the second one since I heard AM2 studios gave up on the third installment since it wasn't financially viable. I agree with some of the comments above regarding the use of blue ray to really expend the universe that is Shenmue. If it's released it'll be likely on 360 unfortunately.
I will play FF games (major ones, not the cheap cheesy spin offs) till I die. VII, X, and XII are my favorite.

I play it the most on my PSP, a true classic.
Trust me, it's just politics. GoWIII is at about 20% in development and will be shown no later than this christmas. Now excuse me while I play through RYGAR again.
This is a pivotal step for sony. Throughout the ps and ps2 era there were titles which drastically changed the face of gaming i.e. metal gear solid, FFVII, shadow of the colossus, GoW, and many others. Sony has to realize the importance and relevance of FPS and put forth effort to make sure that titles such as K2 and R2 turn out incredibly well and bring something new to the table. Exceptional quality will determine its place in the so called console wars.
I'd buy both installments of Mass Effect if they come to PS3.

..PS3 is the system to have now and in the future. As far as 360 titles go, You can always buy those so called exclusives on PC.
