I think you are totally correct and that's the point. Activism is an "ask" but since society and internet culture especially has moved further away from nuanced conversations people have made activism a negative term. People advocate for themselves and others all the time.
My hope is that when people do bring up an issue people take a minute and ask if there is validity to what is happening instead of making the issue about them or issues that don't exist. ...
Thanks for commenting, this is exactly the point of this event and our podcast. As adult gamers we have real-life experiences that "color" how we view our games and the content within them. Thank you for commenting, my only reply is that just because gaming has become predominantly violent doesn't mean that you have to play just those games. We plan on playing lots of different games from lots of different genres.
