$240 for a refurb ps3 with 90 day warranty is a good deal ? I would much rather pay the extra $60 get a game and a new unit and a 1 year warranty. Today at 9am pac amazon looks like they will be offering the ps3 on the gold box deal I'll wait and see what they offer. Up until a couple of days ago you could get a new ps3 on amazon for $299 with a $60 gift card still a better deal than woot.

either most people don't know math or do not understand what this guy is saying. He's saying if you trade in your old ps3 @amazon you can get $230 in credit. IF you believe there will be a price drop and the ps3 will go down to $199. Then you can rebuy the ps3 and make $30 on top of getting a new warranty and a new ps3.

I have a 60gb unit and have been playing motorstorm apocalypse in 3 and 4 hour online sessions without problems. I do have the new FW but do not own L.A. Noire. You can still play blu rays, dvds, play games, surf the web, listen to your music and many other things on your ps3 without the psn. Don't act like one feature missing makes the machine worthless.

Completely agree Sony has always tried to be as tight lipped as possible when it comes to a price cut in order to keeps sales numbers high. They would be out of their minds to announce a price cut so far in advance. 1 weeks notice is about all I'd expect in order not to mess with current sales of the console.

I don't know if it is precursor to a real price drop but right now on Amazon you can get a 160gb ps3 for 299 with a $75 credit from amazon effectively making it $224. Getting pretty close to that unbelievable sub $200 number.
Just to give a couple of examples I pre ordered mod nation and red dead and got $10 gaming credits for each. Since there wasn't a game I wanted until Fallout New Vegas came out I used it to Pre order New Vegas. At the time of the Pre order new vegas was 56.99 -$20 gaming credit so I paid $36.99 for New Vegas. $60 for the title don't they have enough of my money. One of the DLC offerings that really fires me up is charging $28 (7 packs @ $4 a piece) extra for costumes for SSFIV. DLC makes developers lazy about including everything possible on the original release and then nickel and diming us so titles no longer cost the original $60 but more like $80+ if you want all the DLC. I'm not talking about buying for four players. For the game The Fight:Lights out each fighter needs two moves. So for two people to fight each other you need 4 moves. I don't know if this is the only game but in order to play against someone else in the same room that is the only option.
