This part doesn't make sense from a reasoning or business view:
"...but the truth is that few months after the initial release of the new machine, Xbox One, and most importantly Xbox One S, will be simply left behind, as third party publishers along with some of the in-house teams, will simply not waste their time on the creation of two different games, for two different machines. Especially when you throw PlayStation 4K (NEO) into the mix."
Why would...
Good points - the lack of having to backfill for cross-gen, new protagonist that actually looks like a hacker instead of generic angry dude, and the overall aesthetics that SF can bring to the table do give me a bit of hope - and the videos seemed to make the city look pretty good. Here's hoping they stay on the right side of the internet culture line, because it can definitely cross into the "trying too hard" realm quicker than expected. Next week will hopefully give us some mo...
Damn! Well thought out and solid reply - I'd actually welcome a lot of this stuff, part of me hopes that they also have their last DLC pack be just bonkers steampunk stuff that totally breaks it because by the time that comes out they're typically ramping up for whatever the next year's release will be anyway right?
curious to know how weapon customization will pan out - being that loadouts are on a per-weapon basis and the customization is "more focused" I wonder if it's going to be focused as in limited, or focused as in more detailed.
can't stand that it's 15 pages but I would definitely welcome another Red Dead, with a remaster of redemption that's also on PC - that'd be my number one. Feel like the Visceral Star Wars project needs to see the light of day just because it's going to hit that status of rumored for far too many E3's sooner than later. I'd welcome a Borderlands 3 but it's really got to do some new things while keeping that soul. Not an easy job for sure but after what I expect ...
I'll believe it when the first lines aren't "AMD (or NVIDIA) puts out video showing how good their card is in real world" When someone like Digital Foundry or an independent source gets their hands on everything, that's when we'll get actual real-world. At this point, it's basically still marketing tactics.
I thought this was a dupe, but no, just two extremely similar articles within hours of each other; http://n4g.com/news/1913611...
too bad too because I was actually somewhat interested in the content - but saw 1/20 and just noped the F out.
20 separate pages? come on.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and reviewing a game like Overwatch can be tough due to the fact that Blizzard post-lanch support is historically extremely strong, and you can't really score a game on features that are "coming soon" (i.e. SF V). I disagree pretty fundamentally with most of the points here - as slamming Blizzard for "cloning" TF2 is kind of missing the point of what Blizzard does well. They wanted a better CCG so they made Hearthstone, they wante...
Really dug this article. Although I have to say for a roguelike game, how could you not go with a Rogue Dead Guy??? I hope they continue the trend with this, I've got some Widmer Hefe in my fridge at the moment, great summer beer. Also Mission does one of the best Hefe's I've ever had. I've got a few suggestions and being in Colorado I have to advocate for some of the best crafts in the country;
Dark Souls III and New Holland Dragon's Milk

I'd welcome some good WWII games again. After bleeding it dry a few years ago, it's about time we get some more stories told, or told again in the updated engines/hardware. I'd love to see a new Brothers in Arms specifically, but there's still a ton of good stuff there. To be fair Enemy Front seemed just OK, Day of Infamy (Insurgency) is great, and Wolfenstein (new order and old blood) is back in a big way.
Alternatively: "Does the decline of Last of Us mean that third person action games set on earth are doomed" or "since no one is playing left 4 dead anymore, is the zombie genre dead" - come on man - couldn't be further from a relevant argument. Not even a discussion to be had.
The event focus is what kills me. Taken King did a lot of right for the game when it had so much wrong, and rounded it out to at least make it feel like a good experience. My underlying suspicion is that the focus on events allows the core team to begin/shift focus to Destiny 2. At this point I've moved on and won't be back as there are other, frankly better games that respect my time in the world to a better degree. With games like The Division coming out soon and much more ramping...
You linked an article from this week after they made a pretty bad decision to go away from what fans were happy with in larger expansions and focus on event based releases and weekly or timed events. To ignore any and all progress that Bungie and Destiny have made since 2014 is short sighted and naive. Not to mention sales alone dictate things are going just fine; ...
@Foxtrot - they've said that's not happening - they're moving on to "event based" focus which is not the most popular with fans and is a poor choice if you ask me. Hopefully that means they're moving on to actually apply those lessons to an actual fleshed out Destiny sequel but they're not doing expansions any more.
They won't just "drop" Destiny 2 - remember it's a 10 year plan. They've got to bring out another game and it...
I disagree on a few fronts;
The enemy variety - there are a few types and I ran into some pretty challenging cleaners a few times. The author basically just says shooting people is boring which is a pretty lazy point. Not to mention you've been granted a small glimpse into the final game (one mission) and there could be a ton of variety...you don't know, so why say it's bad?
On the point of the genre not working...what? Destiny did a decent job, especially in year...
They're on two different levels though...Oculus is an admittedly premium headset and while the PSVR has been extremely well received it's just different. Also this article is supremely vague which is annoying. Is it going to beat it in sales, profit, titles, units, adoption? I mean sure Oculus will outperform PSVR in some respects but I'm sure they'll be two similar but different experiences.
Also "the crux of VR" is not going to be amount of headse...
Agreed - got about 10 hours in solo and loved it, played another few on a different character with a buddy and had even more fun. As Thrust mentioned matchmaking works pretty well too for the PVE stuff and I'm no longer concerned about this game at all. The only thing that remains to be seen is content - if it's got the destiny problem of a handful of meaningless missions (which I really don't think is the case from the skill menus) it'll be a flop.
If a game comes out on PS4 and PSVita, is it an exclusive? If it's only available on Xbox One and Windows 10 - is that not excluding the Sony platform by definition? Not trying to be condescending or a dick, just trying to understand a little better.
I agree Scorpio is MS saying "you got us good" and maybe it didn't come across but the point was in the statement that Sony gave us lots of trailers with no definitive vision for PSN, their platform, or the f...
