Cyberpunk is one of this gens best RPGs now so it’s a huge game and luckily a lot of ppl probably havnt played it because of the launch.
Maybe games should be priced by quality and content available. So GT6 and ES6 might be able to charge $100 or $120. But other games shouldn’t be allowed to charge more than $40.
Seriously. Why was Clair Obscur only $50? It was worth $70 or me. Hell I’d probably pay $200 just because it’s one of my favorite games ever.

You can get away with not having these features in an epic game world with the best solo play gaming has to offer. When you release a multiplayer game, you cannot! They need to launch with all the candy!

The problem is that we’ve wanted a true successor to DA:Origins for years and never got it. Lorian literally learned from you and now makes your games better than you.

I love how everyone says Bethesda is back. No. The company that made this game has proven they are AAA status when it comes to remaking games. They deserve 90% of the credit.
Though I’ll give Bethesda credit for allowing it to happen.

The one thing we don’t often consider with companies like BioWare and Bungie is the fact that they may not be the same companies. W entirely different ppl running the show.
When I first heard they were making this I figured it was a niche side project. Because making an extraction shooter as your next main IP is crazy for Bungie.
I know they were given money which I believed some was used on Destiny, to make the next money making game.
I don’t blame companies for doing it because when you look at what some of these mobile games are making, it’s insane. I think Diablo Immortal funded Diablo 4 with the money made.

The best you could do is have a sub model for single player games.
Great for Microsoft, terrible for the Developer. Clair Obscura beat the odds because it’s a generational game, as MS decided to release Oblivion at the same time as well.
Luckily they’ve been very successful, but I’d argue they would have sold 5m copies if not for Oblivion and GP.
I do think they will continue to sell.

Great point. I do know people are putting Blue Prince above many games, Ven going as far as calling it a masterpiece, 10/10, GotY, but yes, Sony has been giving us great games for years.
In an age of Gamepass, this would go a long way to justifying Sony’s model. I am back and forth because as a consumer I’d LOVE a PSPass or whatever but I also know that Microsoft is phasing out consoles. Sony is still dedicated to great exclusives etc. So I’m split.

Labor costs are quite high now dude to inflation and housing. Housing discrepancies and food costs are huge and it’s causing wages to skyrocket and not even keep up with COLA.
It’s very unfortunate but we won’t see prices fall until jobs are eliminated, which itself will cause drastic problems and probably lead to some type of universal income.
But companies are driven by investors and this will never change.
They have the right to do anything they want. BUT it may have its consequences. Like Apple they have more cash on hand than most companies, BUt they also believe that their product is good enough to charge premium prices.
They complain about Tariffs but there’s ways around it, there’s working with the White House, there’s a lot of options. We used to send products to a country with lower taxes and send from there. Hell, there’s the option to make the ones we buy here HERE! ...
If your model is a bigger world with monthly content, the initial IP for this structure has to be great!
It doesn’t have to be long, and the cheapest the better, but it’s a good concept.
Create a game that’s solid and sell for cheap and offer monthly content for a price. But no one will buy it if the first entry is terrible.
