Look at what Rockstar did to Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas in 2014. They had a ten-year license for may of the songs in the game. When that ran out they removed the game from the PS Store, XBOX Live and Steam, and put it back up it with the songs removed. This was fine on PS3 and XBOX 360. The problem is, that Steam, then and now, has a policy where you can't opt out of updates. So everyone was forced to update to the newest version with the songs removed, even if they had bought it befor...
If you play GTA London 1969/1961 you'll see why it'll likely never be set there again: driving on the left. Even in top down view, it's difficult to get used to and would likely frustrate many players at the start; and this is coming from someone who lives in a country where we drive on the left.
The Gamecube had its own problems. First, the PS2 was huge at the time. Early on it sold because of its DVD-playing capabilities and its backwards compatibility with the hugely popular PS1. The Gamecube came out a year after the PS2, launching against juggernaut PS2 exclusives like GTA III and MGS2.
A lot of people didn't like the controller's C-stick, d-pad or lack of a fourth shoulder button. Also, its use of minidiscs and lack of included online capabilities meant ...
This really should be disc-based. The PS4 has to be powerful enough to handle software emulation of the PS2. Otherwise it isn't actually backwards compatibility IMO. It would be like saying that the Wii is backwards compatible with NES games because you can download them on the Virtual Console.
Anyway, it's true that Sony talked about BC last year. So this isn't completely new. It's possible that it's just a coincidence that it's announced now. It'...
The most annoying enemies in my opinion are the ghosts from Ghosts n' Goblins. They can spawn anywhere, even on top of you, and can kill you at the worst times. They also make a really annoying sound, particularly in the NES version.
Get off, spammer.
This just proves without doubt that the 3DS never needed to have 3D in the first place. It drove up the price, and made the rest of the original 3DS have to be cheaply designed (sharp edges, bad dpad, etc.) What's more, 3D irritated a lot of people's eyes, so they weren't even getting the benefit of the extra cost. So while I have no comment on the new design, since I haven't used it, a cheaper 3DS without 3D is a welcome move from Nintendo.
I'm glad that Microsoft has removed their DRM. However, certain features that were going to be on the Xbox One could work well when consoles go purely digital, such as selling used games online. This would not require a 24 hour online check in (and such a restriction should never be implemented).
I know that this is an opinion piece, but the author didn't give many reasons for Zelda II being a bad Zelda game. The only thing he mentioned was the platforming (which I agree could have been implemented better), but I don't think there is any reason to call a game bad if you can't say what is wrong with it. The platforming was usually okay, with the exception of a few sections. And, although it should be obvious by now, to answer the author's question, yes, I am one person ...
This reminds me of the way you could overwrite Famicom Disk System games, so a second hand Zelda disk might actually have Castlevania.
Except in Pokemon Yellow
Ports of console games are good, but the Vita needs exclusive games to define it. For example, the original Gameboy had Super Mario Land, but was bundled with Tetris. This set it apart from the NES (although Tetris was later released for the NES).
It's not too expensive, even though I wouldn't like to see a handheld priced higher. However, the price of their memory cards is outrageous. For example, where I live, a 16gb memory card is €50. That's more than twice th...
Before you do this, it would probably be a good idea to get the Mega Memory Card for Gameboy Color, to back up your save file, just in case you don't do it right.
Actually, it would be a good idea to get one of those anyway.
The game does kind of have achievements, in Super Mario Bros. Deluxe for the Gameboy Color. In its "Album", you unlock awards for, for example, defeating Bowser using fireballs, or finding a beanstalk. In the original, there's always the high score.
Challenge can be a good thing. I recently finished The Legend of Zelda second quest for the first time. I foound it very difficult, but beating dungeons felt rewarding (even though you have to walk through walls and battle wizzrobes).
I don't own a 360, but I tried out the controller for the first time today in a game shop. The triggers seem better for driving snd shooting games, but the d-pad certainly isn't something I would want to play Super Mario Bros. with.
So I would be interested in this controller, depending on how much it costs.
Also, for those asking for longer handles on the DS3, it is interesting that no-one has mentioned this controller, the Dual Analog:

It doesn't really matter if the Metal Gear Solid HD collection is coming to XBOX 360. This isn't the first time a Metal Gear game hasn't been on Playstation. The first 2 Metal Gear games originally weren't on Playstation, and MGS: Ghost Babel is exclusively on Gameboy Color. Also, both MGS1 and MGS2 were later ported to other consoles.
I went on holiays recently to Los Angeles. I bought 2 3DS games and one PS3 game. On the way to the airport to go home, I found that the games are region-locked, and do not work on my Irish 3DS. I wasted over $70 on games that I have no choice but to sell on ebay.
Gameboy, and later Nintendo DS(mostly), were region-free. It is a disgrace that Nintendo have put a completely unnecessary region lock in place. Region locks might be to stop piracy, but now there is a situation w...
The title is clearly just for hits, as the article is mostly about the lack of PS3 pre-orders, rather than 360 dominance.
I don't usually pre-order, but sometimes it can be useful to order in advance. For example, here in Ireland, the Wii and Wiimote were sold out around Christmas 2007(I know the Wii launched in 2006).
Also, I have downloaded the Uncharted 3 Beta but so far have not played it, as I keep getting an error when I try to connect in the beta.
It also works with older DirectInput controllers like the Dualshock 1 and 2.
