But why?
It was submitted to N4G after the Direct, so...
Huh?
It's a good question. Something like What Remains of Edith Finch is not a "fun" great, although it is a brilliant game. And sure, fun depends on the individual as well, as it is a subjective feeling. One person can kind Fortnite super-fun while the next person finds it infuriating, but it is still a question to wonder as you branch out and think of titles that challenge the player in unique ways.
Predictions after the Direct already aired? Okay.
It was a good Direct for certain groups of people, but wow. It really neglected others, particularly the Metroid fans who have been begging for something. The nothing that came out of the Direct just hurt me as a Metroid fan, because it continues to show the lack of faith the company has in the franchise.
Exactly. A 2D collection would cost Nintendo basically nothing, and it would make them so much money. I mean, why not?
Yes. I think so.
It would need to be completely redone if it is coming to the Switch. Those touch controls would make it impossible in docked mode.
I can see that, but it is still speculation.
I hate it, because I love Nintendo... and then I also hate the way they treat potential partners. Rare obviously worked their butts off on this port, and then Nintendo felt the need to axe an IP that they don't own. This is just petty. Nintendo clearly could have made a lot of money if they just came on as a publisher for the Xbox 360 release. But no... of course they'd rather be stubborn and not work well with others.
Excellent news is right! Granted, I understand the desire to use loading screens between areas, as it allows for better graphical detail and less strain from texture loading, but I am glad they decided to go the fluid route.
I agree, but I cannot be too mad. This Monster Hunter Rise console looks awesome!
So... you basically made one point in your very short opinion piece, and that one point is quite subjective. To claim the game is "overrated", I was expected some proper evidence and strong arguments. What I just read was a shallow piece that basically just says the game gets repetitive and boring after a while.
Well, guess what? Most games get repetitive and boring after a while, so what's new? You know what else? Some people can play the same game for hundr...
I'm sure you can guess. haha
It's not a matter of knowing what they are doing but failed opportunities. Outside of selling their old games, another example of missed opportunity is themes on the Switch. Can you believe that the only options we have for themes on the Switch since day 1 is "Black" or "White"? The 3DS showed Nintendo perfectly how much money they can make for supplying themes to fans. $2 a theme is an easy sell, and Nintendo would make bank off of it. Super-fans will even buy 5-10 th...
That's not the point. Franchises are not the same as classics. Just because there are a ton of Mario Party games does not mean the series has any classics. The old consoles, however, are loaded with classics that Nintendo could milk. It doesn't mean to only do nostalgic releases, but Nintendo can keep the whole calendar year exciting by equally releasing new games and re-releasing old ones. It's a win-win that way, and they will undoubtedly make a ton of money.
Precisely. Hopefully we will get a Zelda 3D All-Stars of sorts for the Switch, like they did with Mario last year. Considering this year is Zelda and Metroid's 35th anniversaries, I will be quite upset if we do not see some major throwbacks for the two franchises, especially Zelda.
What have they really done besides the NES and SNES apps and the recently released Super Mario 3D All-Stars? It seems like Nintendo has barely tapped their back catalog with the Switch. The Wii and Wii U had significantly better back catalogs, and it is a bit baffling that this will be the Switch's fourth year on the market and Nintendo has barely tapped on their nostalgia buttons.
I mean, where is the N64 app for Nintendo Switch Online? That one seems like a no-braine...
Death? You mean the greatest rap song of all time was the death of a franchise? Well, I guess I love the death. haha
