"Developers need our support, they're busting their asses for our amusement and entertainment and they deserve more respect than they've been getting lately". You make it sound like they're making games for us to play out of the kindness of their hearts. Every time I shell out my hard earned $$$ on a game that's all the support they can expect from me. If people want to rage on something as inconsequential as video games so what? And the whole "if you weren'...

I agree. Event though I was already excited about the game before it released I was stunned by how good it was for an XBLA title. While it's far from perfect I expect to see a lot of what Undead Labs did with their game being copied by other developers in future AAA titles.

I think Fallout 4 will be a next gen title, possibly released on current and next gen systems, but the latter is unlikely. I still wouldn't mind seeing another current gen. Fallout the way Fallout: New Vegas was a sequel to FO3 without being FO4. Maybe Fallout: New California Republic. I'd also be down for a remake/reimagining ofFallout Tactics: BOS. Especially since the new Xcom game has prove you can make a Turn Based Strat. game and it'll sell.

The two problems I have with publishers crying foul over used game is this: first, once you sell a copy of a game you've made your money from that particular sale. Trying to get money from the resell goes against every basic rule of economics, how can you make money off of the sale of the same item over and over? You're not doing anything or producing anything, you're just sitting back making money off of a single product....and when you multiply this times the number of copies be...

But you already got your $10 for the original sale. Why should the person who originally bought it from you give you anything back when he sells it? I mean, how can you get paid twice for selling the same item? Are you selling the game or the renting out the right to play it? If you buy something, anything, and then go and resell it are you obligated to give some of the money you get form it back to the person who made it? If I sell you my Amish made couch do I have to give some cash to the Am...

I think Xbox moved so many units because they had a pretty varied price strategy. They offered their consoles from anywhere between $200 and $400+ and recently lowered their prices even more. Sony had less variety and took a while to reach the $200 price point, which is the magic number for consoles. You're definately right when you say Microsoft had an advantage due to an earlier release but I think they were able to remain at the top of the sales because they had lower prices.

I've been a PC gamer since the days of the Commodore 64 and Amiga but I ended up jumping ship to the Xbox a few years ago when my gaming rig went down and I really haven't regretted the move. While I certainly miss user created mods and superior graphics I definately don't miss the intrusive DRM, the necessity of 3rd party software for team speak or the always online requirements that seem to be becoming more and more common place. As an older gamer I also can't deny the "...

Should also note that you'll easily hit EGO level 100 in the first few hours of play. I managed to get the pre-order bonus a few days after the game released and I found all the EGO codes with a quick google search so I started at EGO 50 after the tutorial area but I have to assume that EGO level 100 wouldn't take too long to hit without any bonus'.

I was wondering who the heck Nordic is too, but considering the IP's they purchased and assuming they plan on holding on to them I'm sure we'll all know who they are soon enough.

While I'll avoid the insults trust me both Sony and Microsoft knows exactly what's going on with the other. Just look at the way websites like this find information: combing the Internet and trade journals for for job postings, patent and trademark applications and other little tidbits of info in order to piece things together and now imagine an entire department in each company that does exactly the same. And this is just the legal, less shady stuff. I'm sure there's other st...

This is assuming that the next generations hardware is going to fly off the shelves at launch like it did this gen. With a sluggish economy, a more than likely higher price point and the fact that there's still a lot of life left in this generations consoles. I really don't think we're going to see the same kind of sales numbers next gen that we did this gen, especially with so many alternatives available like mobile gaming, Steam Box and even stuff like th Ouya. While there will ...

I figure that 3D will explode if they make it so you don't need any glasses at all and you can sit anywhere and still get the "3D effect", but that's some straight up Star Trek future s*** and I probably won't get to see it or I'll be so old I won't care.

This story is about Microsoft trying to court exclusivity deals with publishers because as all of us Xbox owners know Microsoft is terrific about finding exclusive titles. What a joke, PS3 has killed with exclusives. Oh, and while you try to stop the sale of used games I guess your cool with putting Game Fly out of business and what happens if my console dies or gets stolen or something? Will I need to re-buy all my games if I replace my hardware?

Uh, yeah. Obviously you didn't read the article because he totally mentions FF XI. He even links the comment to the games wiki page.

I get what you're saying, I have a pretty good internet connection and for me it's definitely not a big deal but there's no argument that will convince me that always online is a good thing. Privacy issues aside one reason I don't support this is that my son will be old enough to play games in a few years and quite frankly I don't want him to be online while he plays games.

I think backwards compatibility is important since there have been so many great games that released this generation that I don't see myself abandoning while I wait for the next gen to get fully revved up and have a decent size library. And my old hardware isn't going to last forever. Also, I have a lot of games I downloaded and I can't really understand why those games can't be played on the next gen consoles. But on the other hand, from a business point of view it makes pret...
