Can't really hold much against Capcom myself, a lot of my friends are fighting fans (I mean like huge, don't buy anything else, fighting fans) and they don't see Capcom's 're-release with extra stuff' strategy as a rip off, but instead great fan service.
DLC is just something that exsists now, and you either pay for it if you don't. Imo Capcoms 12 new characters + 8 new stages + balancing as a new game, is much better value then MK's $5 per chara...
Not sure I'm ever going to buy a full price game again. The simple fact is no game lasts full price for more then a month here in the UK now and you can save over 50% by just waiting.
For me the new release argument doesn't cut it either, if you stagger it you'll no doubt always have brilliant games to play which have been cut to £18 or less. Why would I buy that new transformers game at full price when I've yet to find enough time to play GOWIII, Heavy Rain...
That he know puts HHGS in the title of these articles, as if you couldn't tell from the ridiculous, BS title.
Should be Q4 x.
Arn't the smaller sites the most vulnerable to threats from the publishers? If Sony threaten to cut their Ad revenue that site could face going under - thus should we not look to the bigger - more financially stable sites - to have a neutral view point as they shouldn't be so easy to threaten.
It goes both ways really, in general I think you can see if a website is 'caught out' over inflating a score for money. While I'm sure it happens, if you actually read the review and not just ...
This site reviews on a 0-10 scale instead of the IGN 7-10 scale? :/.
But yeah, it's hard to really take much out of this as it's translated. You can tell if a review is farming for hits / unfair based on how it reads, google translate kind of makes that task impossible though.
They edited it, no biggie.
Why do you think Prototype 2 is going to be a Wii exclusive? 0_o.
Would the Wii listing not be this Crash game - as well, all the recent Crash games have been on Wii? :/. Leaving their open world dev team people to do Prototype 2 on the HD consoles (You know, the ones which the original was on...).
I assume the Radical making huge openworld spiderman game rumour thing is dead now?
"For the Wii, there's Super Mario Galaxy and Metroid Prime 3. On the Xbox 360, we're talking about Scene It and Viva Pinata; Party Animals!. The Ps3, meanwhile, gets things like Eye of Judgement and SingStar, which are fun but not exactly games that pull you into an immersing environment. "
Gotta love turning around his stupid and flawed logic, aye?
As soon as I read the sentence you pulled out, I cringed and realised what a load of fanboy mush this guy was wr...
Yeah, I read about that and was very impressed. Thing was, you couldn't do it yet. It was a plan for the future, something which would happen but wasn't set to yet.
However, that may just be in Europe. Perhaps Sony are just giving us the cold shoulder while they've already got that set up in America? Or perhaps you're just stating what is coming, but not yet avaliable?
Although it'll be great when it happens, and sounds incredible, if it's not yet avaliable then really i...
A terribly written article that didn't seem informed about the Wii at all and dodged alot of obvious points when trying to look right. I mean when it was listing 'traditional' Wii games, it mentioned Super Paper Mario and Twilight Princess, yeah fine. Then it went onto slate the Wii for a lack of them, without mentioned the best of them thus far (Super Mario galaxy, Zack and Wiki, Metroid Prime 3, Resdient Evil 4, Fire Emlbme, Battalion Wars 2, Trauma Center etc).
The writer just d...
Great review, this game is looks set to go down in history.
It's head to the top 10 in gamerankings, well, it's currently challenging Ocarina of Time. Hmmmmmm.
I think 8/10 is a fine score for the game. End of the day it's makes no attempt in hiding it is a mini-game collection and party game, so it should be reviewed on that basis. It sounds like it's one of the better ones to hit the Wii, so why not give it a score to reflect this?
It's very hard to review a game like this, cause although most the people who read this site are probably expecting very little from this, there is a huge audience who loved the simplicity of Wii Sports, and ...
It's gonna sell tons, it doesn't take a genius. If not for the Mario license, or Sonic license, or Olympics license, or bonus multiplier of combining the 3 together, then for the huge marketing budget that seems allocated to the title whenever I go to my local GAME or GameStation. I mean, in Europe 6 weeks before release they had a huge countdown for it, trailers playing and pre-orders ready to be taken.
Chances are this is destined for the realms of mediocrety, and for my fix of ...
Wii has sold more software in it's first year then the 360 did in it's first year.
Yeah, it's attatch rate is less, but surely developers only really care about the first point. It's an issue Nintendo to address, but from a publisher standpoint they're gonna see the Wii as the biggest market for their games, still.
I'm not convinced the third parties need to be worried. I mean, most of the PS2 / PSP ports have still managed to zoom past 100k in just America, which is practically pure profit for the publisher. All the games made exclusive to the system have sold fine thus far (Red Steel, Rayman Raving Rabids, Sonic and the Secret Rings, MySims, Dragon Quest Swords, Elebits, Trauma Center etc).
I think so far third parties are making profit, which to them is all that matters. With the cheapest ...
Waiting another 2 months for this to hit Europe is going to be hard, but can I say I'm sure it'll be worth every minute I'm left anticipating this game.
Great Review, although my biggest critism would be it's just left me wanting the game more :(.
I was half way into my third playthrough of Demons Souls when my PS3 YLOD'd. Was a worrying week when i read you can't just move hard drives to get lost save data, thankfully my save had gone to the cloud without me even thinking about it.
Not got the Demon Soul's plat yet but not long now. I owe my life to PS+ now lol.
