This is one of those games that you cant see alot from screenies.
They seemed just as enthusiastic about pushing out a crappy game every year as Activision did. Didnt they breach contract? If they did they should lose. Sorry, you have to follow the law whether you read the whole contract or not. I hate Activision just as much as the next person. I think theyre destroying the industry and giving it a bad name. But a written contract has to be obeyed if its signed.

kinda. My girlfriend and I play games pretty often and every time were online she never wants to use a mic. I cant blame her. Before she had a PS3, the only console we had in common was a 360. Playing on xbox live completely discouraged her from ever being comfortable using a mic online. Every time we played on live there would always be some wannabe hood rat white boy or some puerto rican asshat that would try to act like some kind of pimp. Supporting this franchise is just like supporting COD. If you want to watch the FPS genre keep rolling down that hill that its nearly at the bottom of, then go buy halo. I think if developers are going to demand more from us ($), we should demand more from them. Frankly, Im sick of passing out $60 every time some developer takes a dump and calls it a game.
I will give bungie one hand over IW though. At least with the Halo series, you can see they try.

It will still sell a ton. No, not as much as MW2 but most likely as much as WaW. I can tell you I wont be supporting this franchise and havent. I think its a game that has little to no innovation thats sucking the life out of the FPS genre. Much like Halo (i cant speak for ODST since i havent played it). Looks like we have another Spiderman type game.

Activision is way out of line with this whole mess but its hard to defend IW's actions. Im not a fan of the company and havent been since WaW but sticking henchmen at the door is over-doing it.

It was one small glitch. Nothing big. I remember MS updating for close to a week for that lame NXE wii copy. THAT, was a sign of things to come.

Its like when EA tried to do a hostile take-over of Rockstar. The stocks dropped like a meteor shower. Any time theres a chance for a publisher change for any company, especially one so liquid, theres a lot of uncertainty in the air. I think IW should have kept their mouths shut to begin with and Activision shouldnt have acted like the mafia and stuck henchmen at the doors. Now Activision thinks theyre some kind of gaming cartel. IW shouldnt have even asked for the royalties to begin with. Theyre under contract, a good company owner would know that but Activision could have handeled it much differently. Switching publishers wouldnt help much either since Activision owns the rights to the franchise. This sure is a pretty big mess! Chances are IW will stay with their current publisher until/if another company buys their most lucrative franchise.

You make a good point but Modern warfare is part of the franchise. Remember the black screen you see at the opening of every game with white text? Thats a disclaimer and a copyright statement. That states Modern Warfare/2 is part of Activisions Call of Duty franchise.
