With the games that are coming out that are mult-platform and the exclusives that all three companies have lined up, they are all going to do phenominal business throughout the holiday season...but I do think that MS will come out ahead of Sony because of the three titles that are going to do exceptionally large business, Bioshock, Halo 3 and Mass Effect. But, all gamers, on any of the consoles are playing at the best time that I can remember
The games that are coming out within the next six months is astounding! I definitely think that the 360 has the advantage, but the PS3 has great games too, like Haze that is now off the 360. But with Too Human, Alan Wake, a late release on UT3, Bioshock, Halo3 and Mass Effect, that is the best lineup within a six month period that I can think of. And we ALL get to enjoy games that may very well prove to be even better than the exclusives, Assassin's Creed, Call to Duty 4, Mercinaries 2, GTA I...
Granted, even though I don't like RPG's, I know and freely admit that FF has a monstrous following and MGS does also, but I really don't think MS is "feeling the heat" already when they have just released Bioshock, about to drop Halo 3 and PGR4, and right after that will unvail Mass Effect (even though I'm not intrested, it will sell HUGE!). I think MS is feeling pretty damn comfortable right now.
I actually agree with you, I wish the 360 fans would just let it go and move on to some of the exclusive titles that they will have the oppurtunity to enjoy, Halo 3, Mass Effect, PGR4 and Bioshock, but let us not forget how much PS3 fanboys were building up rumors and going on and on forever about Bioshock coming to PS3...and they didn't believe (or didn't want to believe) when the developer said point blanke that IT WON'T HAPPEN!!!
Spielberg didn't say that he would never let any of his movies see the light of day on HD-DVD, he stipulated that he wanted them to be available on Blu-Ray also...that means they will be on both formats from now on, but the only one he has in pipe right now is the the Anniversarry edition of Close Encounters, which I believe actully is only coming out on Blu-Ray, but, since Universal and Dreamworks own all the Jurassic Park movies and Private Ryan, I am sure they will be on both formats.
I need a link or something that qualifies your statement about three times more movies on Blue-Ray. Unless you can back that up, you are talking complete garbage and pulling stats out of your A$$! I am pissed that I won't be able to get Spiderman 3 on HD-DVD, but I am not going to lie about numbers to make an arguement. As far as Blu-Ray having more support from the studios, I am pretty sure that is a moot point now that Paramount switched over.
As much as each camp would like to posture and pretend to know what the he!! is going on, nobody has the slightest idea. I tend to believe Warner when they say that they will continue to support both formats, but, with this bargin priced player in time for the holidays, and another HUGE pot of money maybe on the table for exclusivity, I don't think it would be out of the realm of possibilitiy to see them announce HD-DVD only. And if that happens....WOW!!!
I can not wait for this game to arrive. Assassin's Creed made me sit up and take notice well over a year ago when it was announced as a PS3 only title, and believe me, I was pi$$ed! Absolutely can not wait for this game and for Half-Life: Orange Box to arrive. I truly hope that AC comes close to living up to the hype and expectations that so many of us have for it...if it does, what a wonderful treat for gamers on both consoles!
Hotshot, with all the time you spent looking up those "fact" you could have been enjoying your choice of console and games. Instead, you decided to waste time pouring time and effort into something that is meaningless and has no point. I never understand why fans of each console want to talk smack and degrade the other camp, and almost as perplexing is to listen to, or read, people debating what game is the best or is going to win awards when the freaking games AREN'T EVEN OUT YET!!...
What is it that I said that makes me sound like a fanboy? And in case you aren't real sharp on the sarcasm...I wasn't being serious about Sony-Blu-Ray being able to laugh about recent developments...actually, they should be quite concerned and upset. I am a 360 & HD-DVD owner, but there are a lot of movies and a few attributes that Blu-Ray has that I wish I could get, but I made my decision, and I have not, and will not blast someone or call them names for the camp they have picked.

Why can't the sony/Blu-Ray fan boys just admit that this was freaking HUGE and move on. They have great exclusive movies (SpiderMan, FF 2, and Pirates 3, which I hated) and HD-DVD has great ones too now, with Transformers, Shrek 3, the worst one of the series, and Bourne Ultimatum. By choosing one side you have given your vote and money to a side, there is no need to try and piss off the other group. I think that they are just pissed because this announcement has to sting like a mother!
No kidding, who would have thought that they would bash HD-DVD? How classy is it for them to refer that article to refer to HD-DVD as the "inferior" platform at least twice. You know what, I don't think the fact that someday HD-DVD Mmight" have to use a second disc for bonus materials makes it inferior...outside of the storage capacity, Blu-Ray has nothing to talk smack about. You are a true genius! Nice grammar. Oh, and I think Mass Effect and Bioshock would be defined as exclusives. I know Bioshock is out on PC, but not any other console, and that is more of an exclusive than the PS3 gets for Haze and UT3, as they will both be out on 360 within a couple of months.

Yeah, Lair and Warhawk are getting GREAT reviews...I am sure both of them will out sell Bioshock. There is no way what PS3 has coming out is going to come close to Halo 3, Bioshock and Mass Effect.
There is not ONE SHRED of actual proof on any of the official releases from anyone (that actually counts) that says anything about Universal swaying from their undying support to HD-DVD. I am in the HD-DVD camp, but I admit there are a lot of movies I would love to own that are Blu-Ray exclusives and I just have to deal with it. Why can't you guys just face facts...even if they were bought, Paramount and Dreamworks now combine with Universal to even up the score for the HD-DVD vs. Blu-Ray bat...

I have been reading about this game since it was a PS3 exclusive, and I honestly don't know if I have ever rooted for a game to deliver on its promise more that AC. It would be really nice if they did something more special than just a special case (which is awesome bye the way),maybe a soundtrack CD included or gamer pictures or something.
Infernus, while I do agree that nobody should pass judgement on a game (for either system) before it has been released, I am curious as to what exclusives PS3 has coming out by the end of the year that you think can compare or come close to the trifecta of Bioshock/Halo 3/Mass Effect? I know that Warhawk is doing well, and that Lair has a following, but it is underperforming...and most all of the games I am waiting on are going to be multi-platform
