a friend of mine brought up how he thinks they should drop consoles but continue handheld, which I thought was interesting.
haha innocent typo on my part :P I swear I know his name!
OK, you're right, I did misread it and my apologies to that. And my intention wasn't to ever "add flames". In fact, I had no idea this post would even blow up the way it has. But I still stand by my opinion and, as One More Level is an opinionated blog, I had no issue in stating it. That's all.
I didn't create the issue. Thousands of other people did already. I just stated my own opinion.
I think everyone HERE is overreacting to my post. I'm not saying boycott the game, I'm not saying the dude should get fired (both of those reactions would be highly unreasonable). If you read my post, I'm clearly stating that a poor choice of words that implies something sexist is what happened here, and it's just my opinion that it could've been handled better and that I understand the uproar over it. Especially when you are talking to a public medium. Nothing I said was...
You can certainly hate my article and thats fine. And I understand the man has feelings, and so do gamers.
And yes, what he said IMPLIES sexism. That's what I said. It doesn't mean i'm saying he is, in fact, sexist. I'm saying he made a dumb move by saying something that, in those very words, implies the incompetence of women in games. And that he should have picked a better choice of words or this uproar wouldn't have happened in the first place.
Man, I think I was not nearly as angry at the guy as you seem to be over the article. I even pointed out that I'm not calling him sexist or anything, I'm saying as far as being smart when talking to the press, he was not. And clearly I'm not the only one who feels this way, if the topic is being talked about by tons of people on Twitter. I still stand by him making a dumb move in using those words. I'm certainly not "raping" him over it.
I stand by Prince of Persia and Mortal Kombat both being great (for what they are) video game adaptations. I cannot, however, agree with the others on your list lol
Just to add on, I certainly am not hating diablo 3. That's a strong word to choose. I am enjoying it, it is fun, I just feel as though gameplay and story wise, it doesn't hold up to a game that came out 12 years ago. And that's kind of sad.
I agree. I play multiplayer on both PC and Xbox. When I've played Left4Dead on multiplayer on my PC, not only did I appreciate the better control, I also realized... I never had to use it. The community was so mature and welcoming, i never had an issue. On my Xbox, it is a whole different story.
Honestly, I enjoyed Day of the Tentacle, but I enjoy Maniac Mansion much better overall, hence why I focused on just it.
Deadly Premonition was a so bad it's good kind of game. I found I got nothing but joy and awkward smiles out of it.
Oh. my god. I LOVE King's Quest.
