Hope this gets approval, but I bet it's going to be tricky. Looks like a well put together emu though.
Well, Apple is expected to announce details on the iPhone hardware update as part of its keynote speech at next month's Worldwide Developers Conference, which is on June 8th, I think (could be 7th - it's around there, anyway).
I think she must be the evil version :-)
Yeah, that's right. LCD's don't actually generate any light - they need an additional source to light them up so you can see what they're displaying. OLEDs (organic light emitting diodes) generate their own light, which is why they can be thinner since they don't need a light source strapping to the back of them.
They're expensive, though, and actually they're new enough that long term reliability tests haven't really been done. They should be fine in theory, but you never know u...
Hmmm, that's a pretty good point. It needs some serious push over there.
I have a PSP and use it - to play old games. I said that this same game would undoubtedly LOOK better on a PSP, that's not in question. What I'm saying, as a one time PSP user, is that the system's dying.
Too many PSP users are, for some peculiar reason, falling back on iPhone bashing rather than being able to admit the system's on its way out, thanks to Sony.
Those are great games listed above. Really great. The Atari 2600 has even more great games than that, but it...
I think it's true that a PSP game featuring similar gameplay - WipeOut for instance - would look better than it ever could on the iPhone.
Unfortunately for Sony's fanboys, no one's making games for the PSP so we can only assume it'd look better since there won't be many more (if any) racing games made for the PSP. Even Sony couldn't care less whether the system lives or dies. Plus, should one actually be made by some miracle (say EA has some excess cash it wants to pour down the ...
I suppose it does a bit :-)
Hopefully the game will play fast enough to warrant having a roll cage fitted to the vehicles :-D
Which is preferable to all those games out there for other platforms that last about five minutes and cost $30.
My apologies guys - as one of our posters on iPhone Otaku just pointed out, this is meant to say Age of Heroes, not Age of Empires. Entirely my mistake. Please forgive the error (it wasn't meant to mislead).
Gotta admit though - that show would get a lot of viewers if it were actually on TV today! This game looks like the next best thing, to me :-)
A comment on the iPhone Otaku page makes a good point. This isn't PSP bashing - we don't care one way or the other about the PSP to be honest - but PSP owners shuold be annoyed that they're being cast aside by Sony now there's a better market.
From an iTaku:
"I don't see any psp bashin going on here. There is nothing that says the Psp is bad, it says Sony's marketing is bad, and it is, if it is overlooking all its loyal psp owners (who as we can see here do nothing but try to...
30 million iPhone and iPod Touch users might disagree about that :-)
To be fair, though, I love the PSP - it just needs bringing back up to speed by Sony (who got complacent with it). Which, apprantly, isn't happening (see the article).
Yeah, not disputing that the PSP has some interesting games coming out - it's the fact that Sony Pictures is looking elsewhere for its license deals when you'd expect the PSP to be its first port of call.
Dude, you really should, especially if a bit of retro adventuring is your thing. Lots of stuff on the iPhone's slate at the moment.
Dude what the hell? Stay on topic ya lousy spammer.
Must be years since I've played Myst, and even though I'm apprehensive that it might not have aged all that well, I'm still really looking forward to it.
Almost full price... I guess that's justifiable for a solid classic like this. Gonna give it a try.
