I told the guy that he was playing on arcade mode and the damage model unlocks as progress through the game.

Man, it seems like reviewers forgot what GT5 is. They play the game, they suck at the game because is too realistic for them and then they give a bad score because they suck at the game.
And they didn't even mention features GT5 has in this review.
