It's not the so-so graphics, it's the fact that what we've seen of the gameplay so far doesn't look that alluring. My prediction: it will be a niche game. Some people will like it, but the huge majority won't care at all. In other words, Sony's Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom.

A lot of speculation, actually.

Nobody needs to actually release a console in order to provide developers with a new platform to develop for. Developers will have the new console (or at least the new tools and console specs) long before its public release.

My biggest problem is with this: "The Vahalla is due for release in LATE 2009 or early 2010 . .naturally this will be in the new x720 due to its radical change in design."

There's nothing &qu...

My guess is 2011 or 2012. There's still plenty of room for Xbox 360 to grow, they're just introducing a new OS and they said they might even introduce the third one in the future. A slim model is probable as well, especially after they put the CPU and the GPU on a single chip (which is planned, according to the same source that brought us first word about the Jasper revision). Also, they recently said that although Xbox 360 is approaching the install base of 25 million, it's only the beginnin...

@Mozilla89

"The average 360 owner is a hardcore gamer that gets games the first day plus a bigger install base. PS3 owners tend to buy their games slowly, so LBP will sell consistently over a longer period of time as opposed to selling huge the first few weeks and then dropping off."

I don't doubt that LitleBigPlanet will have legs, just like Viva Pinata did, but I don't expect it to do huge numbers anymore (I expected anything from 2 to 4 million initially...

A bit too hectic for my taste, but could provide a nice fix for all those Painkiller junkies.

By the way, it's not exclusive to PC, it's also coming to Xbox 360.

These blorge fellas are getting better and better each day, first rate comedy gold. The only problem is it seems they're not joking.

Funny, people on forums I visit have been complaining that the PS3 version looks slightly worse, with some weak textures and much more noticeable aliasing and artifacting.

But this is getting ridiculous, the differences are always much smaller than we had last gen, and I don't remember people comparing each and every game to this extent back then. People with just one console will be happy with the version for their system, and those with both can download both demos and decide f...

Boku and LittleBigPlanet have very little in common. One of them is a game centered around user generated content and another a visual programming environment for kids. Resemblances are quite superficial.

By the way, Boku has been in development for at least a couple of years so it can't be Microsoft's response to LittleBigPlanet on any level. It was first publicly shown in March of 2007 (at least as far as I know, maybe even earlier), the very same month that Sony introduced us ...

Well, that was amusing. Everybody has the right to their own opinion, no matter how terribly wrong it might be.

So let's see... One is Halo Wars, the other one Peter Jackson's Halo project (if I recall correctly, Frankie or Luke Smith once said on NeoGAF that they were only helping with it in initial stages, but are not actively involved anymore), the third Bungie's Halo game and the fourth probably Halo 4 being developed for the next Xbox.

Funny. Is that a satirical blog?

Honestly, no (although that still doesn't have anything to do with the fact that this article is nonsense). Yes, there are many multiplatform games I'm looking forward to, but there are just as many if not more Xbox 360 console exclusives that I want, at least ten coming out during this holiday season. I also want some PS3 exclusives, mind you, but as far as my personal tastes go (I'd like to stress that - my personal tastes), that list is not nearly as long.

By the way, 2009 wil...

What kind of a joke is this? I could list at least a dozen more Xbox 360 console exclusives for the rest of the year. Hilarious :)

6126d ago 2 agree2 disagreeView comment

Why exactly? They've been winning over the PS3 in every relevant category (profits, install base, game sales, game and accessory attachment rates, number of games, number of exclusives, online services, number of online users...) since day one and still are. Sure, nowadays PS3 is doing better than it used to so the threat is certainly on the horizon (and that competitiveness is great for everyone involved, especially us gamers), but Xbox 360 and Wii are still quite ahead.

Which b...

Desperation? More like stubbornly holding onto their strategy. This is only the second price drop in almost three years and the launch price has been slashed for only $100. If anything, I expected this to happen much sooner, but then Microsoft's Entertainment & Devices Division wouldn't have been able to post profits for the last fiscal year, just like they were predicting all along.

Desperation is what I would call a certain other company slashing its system's launch price f...

@Coltrain

Yes, together with games Scar 360WA already listed, that's a quite strong line-up, certainly stronger than the meager PS3 offering. And all of those games are confirmed, except for Dragon Ball Online. You have the face to call me out, but you're the one who purposefully omitted a number of confirmed Xbox 360 games in your article, while touting several rumored PS3 releases? Please.

Speaking of which, what was the last successful SOE MMORPG? Yes, that's righ...

Here, let me help:

The Secret World
Mabinogi
Xenjo Online (Asia only for now)
Dragon Ball Online (confirmed only through a job listing so technically it's only a rumor)

Along the ones that are already out:

Final Fantasy XI
Phantasy Star Universe
Test Drive Unlimited

I really don't understand where people get the idea that PS3 is set to become the choice console of MMO players and this article certainly doesn't h...

"Possibly", "probably"... Are there any facts in this article? I don't know, but there are definitely some false statements.

"Microsoft's upcoming XBLA Community Games service seemed like a better alternative for developers with fewer restrictions and certification hurdles, but already that service is showing itself to be even more bogged down with lower royalty rates and absurdly low price caps designed to keep indie developers starving."
