I'm still not convinced by 3DTV's.

I don't think that what they bring to the table is actually worth the massive pricetag. Maybe in a couple of years when the prices drop I'll be more interested, but right now I'm happy with a 'standard' HDTV :)

I dunno where that list came from but the place I go to for my games in the UK is Shopto.net and here's their current top seller list over Christmas. Notice the PS3 abundance in the list even though most are multiplat. I think that says it all. It doesn't matter what console you have or how many sales games get, all that matters in the end is whether you like the game.

No MW2 on there either because that had absolute chart dominance for Nov on there, but Uncharted 2 remains on th...

The thing is Uncharted 2 doesn't just have voice acting, Naughty Dog have actual actors to play the roles of the characters in the game. It makes the game feel so much more genuine because the actors can deviate from the written dialogue in the script if they want to and improvise. The bonus videos in the game show you behind the scenes on the set.

Personally, I don't think any other games have reached this level in terms of actor participation and pulled it off as well as Naught...

No one should ever buy a game based on it's metacritic score. Some of the games that get amazing ratings are overhyped, sometimes the reviewers have more time with a game than another and get to know it better, sometimes the effect of exclusivity plays a role in how it's judged (at least it seems to be the case), sometimes the reviewers aren't objective about the game, and sometimes they just get it wrong.

At the end of the day the written word in a review is worth far more than ...

Now this article is up we get to see what everyone else in the community modelled when they were 17. Maybe it was a new gun design for CS or a character model.

If you can model something and then put that model into a game with all the coding then well done. If that's what you want to do when you're older you'll need both proof of work you've done and qualifications. When it comes to anything to do with art it tends to be a lot more important to have something you can show someon...

I think when it comes to MW2 if you liked COD4 then you'll like this even more. Personally, I like games with solid controls and good gameplay. Killzone 2 was a bit difficult to get to grips with online until they released the precision control option which makes it more manageable to make small adjustments. COD4 is just easy to play, which is what makes it such a good game. If it's easy to play you're less likely to get annoyed with it and are more likely to have fun playing it.

If I remember rightly there wasn't a demo for COD4 either until after release. It's not them getting big-headed, it's just them following through with what they did before. If the game is selling well and they're happy with how it's been received they don't have to put out a demo, of course it'd be nice to check it out before release but it gives people two choices:

1) Preorder and play the game.
2) Wait for a demo or a price drop and miss out on playing.

There...

Don't think we'll see anything concrete till E3 next year if R* stick to their history of keeping details undercover. They'll lock up game details until they've got a demo ready to show then get a mega hypeball rolling.

It's already been proven the PS3 is more powerful (an article on here last year tested each console against each other), the exclusives keep coming (more promised for next year) and the 360 is relying on Halo to pull it out of the depths it's currently in (Halo: ODST is apparently disappointing btw).

Seriously, remove yourself from your 360 bubble and take a look what what's really going on... Sony have released a Slim and are on a roll, Microsoft have dropped the prices of the 3...

I want to read something about what the game is about, what we can do, if there's multiplayer, how big the game is. I also want to see more than just the cinematic they produced a little while ago, some good gameplay vids would be nice R* :)

Coming from a guy that disagrees with MS's buyout strategy I have to disagree with you.

Rockstar would have used the money for GTA4, but considering Rockstar have stated many times in the past they do NOT like playing sides (Main reason I like R*) they were bound to start some PS3 exclusives (LA Noire, AGENT) to balance the playing field. It's highly likely they've used the profits of GTA4 to make AGENT, which is a sweet pill for PS3 fanboys but really it's just good business sen...

Yes there's AGENT but there's also LA Noire that Rockstar (not sure which studio) is working on based around the mob scene.

I'm looking forward to actually hearing some news about what we can do in the game before I say 'yay this sounds amazing' because I haven't actually heard anything yet...

People still believe the 360 is as powerful as the PS3. I remember an article on this very site that stated the PS3 was more powerful sometime last year, was all techy and stuff. I guess they just ignore and move on.

It's a no-brainer really, give a dev a blu-ray disc and they can go to town and put as much as they want into a game. Give a dev a DVD9 and they'll hit that wall where they have to compress everything to make it fit. If the game is multiplatform who loses out? The PS...

Totally agree with you. It's not struggling at all.

The majority of the avid gamers that come to this site get engulfed in the 'console war' and are unable to see the bigger picture, the fact that Sony have stated they've got a 10 year timeline for the PS3, we aren't even halfway there yet. Sony have completely outmanouvered Microsoft with the exclusive games imho, they've got more original exclusives that can't be matched by the 360 genre for genre (Uncharted, Ratchet & Clan...

The phrase is back! It's been a while, last time 'the phrase' was being thrown around freely was when the HD-DVD addon was being pushed (People actually bought that...) and now Microsoft have given you all 'the choice' to spend more money on a new wireless adapter.

Yes it may be a choice but that argument is completely redundant because anything built to stand the test of time these days should have a built-in wireless adapter. Okay, so Microsoft failed to fork out for the 360 an...

Looking through that site everything was fine and dandy until I stumbled over the heartbeat sensor. So noobs now need someone to point out where the enemy is because they're unable to see? Being a big fan of Hardcore modes and the UAV Jammer, silence is golden to me so including this fictional tech is a bit of a disappointment if I'm perfectly honest.

The variation is much better though, I used to play Counterstrike using the Steyr AUG so it's good to see that make an appearance...

IMO COD4 beats COD5. I've just about had enough with the constant roll-out of unrealistic WWII Hollywood-style shooters. Plus Infinity Ward didn't make COD5.

5764d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Maybe if common sense hadn't been thrown out of the window when this article was written it'd be painfully obvious that the 360 is the homeland console and instead of attacking the Japanese consoles you go after the Xbox because that's probably the most widely advertised console (I live in England so don't know for certain). Makes perfect sense to me but then I don't consider my console to be a vital internal organ like a lot of people do.
