Thats if they didn't screw up the MP like they did with 3. But hopes are high since they put Red Storm on MP instead of Massive. A great map editor and good game play will make everthing else take a back seat!
It's theortical power. It takes software that's up to date to use that power. That's why it takes developers a few years into a cycle to pump out games that really are better than the last gen.
This beta didn't come anywhere close to getting players excited as the COD4 beta did. I had a lot of friends who wouldn't even give it a try. One even downloaded it and never played one second. The games decent so I don't get not giving it a try.
Maybe the mistake was not the price but the classification. Maybe the listing was for renting the game. Digital game rentals seem likly this gen. It will be interesting to see the pricing structure for rentals. One thing that may work is if you could rent a game then if you decide to keep it the rental charge is credited for the purchase.
You also have a billion dollar company that can go to every ISP and pay to get put in the fast lane. Net neutrality fell so things will change. MS could have part of those 300,000 servers at the ISP's cutting latency with a direct connection!

The only attack here is on MS for using the same sales and marketing tactics that have been used by all companies over the last 50 years.
It makes sense because this is a standard practice for a lot of large business. This is done to keep hackers from creating false sites with nearly close or misspelled domain names. Put an extra n in Amazon.com and you still get directed to the real site.
I hope they do lower the price for digital games because that's how I'll be buying most if not all my games next gen. If they don't i will still be saving money on gas not having to run to a store.

The cost of gaming just skyrocketed for me with the "family" plan being canned. So much for sharing downloaded games with nine other people. Even games that may have launched as digital downloads for cheaper amounts will be shoved back onto disc and be priced at $60.
The family sharing part sounds good to me. MS has already stated that those 10 family members don't have to be blood realities or even live in the same house. I see some money savings here! 10 friends set up as "family" and I can play their games when they are not. We can play games we wouldn't normally buy. And digital downloads are included.

Cable TV survived despite many people not having access to it. HBO survived despite the limited number of people who had cable and the limited number of providers that would carry it. Same goes for espn and MTV etc..
