The hours would've had to have been logged through September 19th, 2024, so now that they've announced it and the deadline has passed, unless the scalpers have a time machine, they can't start racking up hours.
Also, it's a local device with all the hardware built in, not a streaming device? You can buy an Amazon 4K fire stick and play Xbox via cloud for $50. Amazon builds the hardware, Microsoft just had to build the app to run it (and all the backend, which was already built), so the consumer wins here.
Who is downvoting stuff like this? Like, be on one side of a console war if you really want, but like, downvoting someone wishing him well? Don't be a trash human.
@fr0sty agreed completely, which is why they're hedging by releasing other games to multiplatform, plus they have PC to make up for the difference in a lot of ways, which is why their games are not complete money pits. It brings up the question of whether or not those exclusives would drive sales of consoles, though. Let's say Spiderman 2 was an Xbox exclusive, it would certainly have pushed console sales, though who's to say how much is anyone's guess.
Money bags, yes, but are we ignoring that Xbox actually makes a profit on games and GamePass? Hardware is often a loss leader, and they're probably making profit 4 years into the life cycle, but games and services revenue have been very profitable while other parts of Microsoft's business is struggling. Say what you will about the quality of those games, of course, but this is kind of a reverse Dreamcast situation, where the console was dragging down the company and put it at risk of ...
@ariv88, actually it's more than Microsoft by percentage - Microsoft laid off about 8.6% of its workforce, 1,900 of 22,000 people. It's a bad day for everyone, but don't spread misinformation while also calling someone else a troll.
So you want all new Nintendo games from every franchise lol
Not making fun but it's like every major franchise, minus Mario for some reason?
The "next gen console update" part of this is so clickbaity. The Nintendo president offered an update that they have nothing to update us on.
How did this article get approved? It's from 2021.
They've been doing this for years: https://www.macrumors.com/2...
Yep, heavily agree though I've found some success with certain slower games. Something like The Witness or another walking sim would be great to stream and wouldn't suffer much, if at all.
You could buy one digital and one disc model for $950, then use that drive between the consoles. Maybe for the $50, it makes more sense to only have one drive.
Then again, very small edge case for people with multiple PS5s who wouldn't spend that money on a Switch / Xbox / PC components / etc.
The screen on the MacBook Pros is widely regarded (both objectively and subjectively so) as one of the best laptop screens in the industry. It might not do more than 120Hz, but everything else is tops. a 3.5K display on the 16-inch model is ridiculous at that screen size, I'd be willing to bet no one can tell the difference between that and a 4K display on a screen that size.
Yes and no - if you need to go laptop, $2K for a pretty killer portable machine with battery life that isn't two hours and fans that don't run just for opening a Chrome tab is pretty reasonable.
They bought it, they can say it.
The fact that four people disagree with a factual statement shows just how much of a PlayStation love-fest this site is. You call those who love Xbox sheep then blindly ignore anything that could even potentially be a knock against PlayStation.
Five years behind Xbox and the Adaptive Controller, and a straight copy of the packaging.
Cyberpunk has had three years, Redfall has been out for less than six months. Give them time. Whether it's worth saving is a different story, but this isn't comparing apples to apples.
@Rainbowcookie
Aah the awaking "love" set the most elusive of sets.😅Amor
I think you meant Awakening 😉
A bit of Muphry's Law for you there...
Layoffs suck, and none of it is good.
That said, gaming is a small part of Microsoft, unfortunately. The company also added $640B to their market cap this year, so if we're doing ratios and percentages, his bonus is 1.2% of the increase in company value.
