This is short but interesting. After the full Final Fantasy XV is released, I would love to see a full Sakaguchi commentary/review/interview on his thoughts. I was also really curious about he felt about XIII as well.
It would be the first time a Numbered Final Fantasy has appeared on a Nintendo platform since Final Fantasy 6....
And who would've ever thought you'd be able say them in the same sentence as something that got announced on the same day? Unbelievably exciting
This is back when the project VERY first started, Nomura didn't know he was director until after he saw an internal presentation on the game. Since then, Nomura has been well aware that he is the director. Do a little reading before freaking out you guys.
I'm curious why this is even an article? Square Even said they couldn't prepare a trailer in time for E3 because of Duscae 2.0 and the current development schedule, hence it was delayed for Gamescom.
I'm so used to the people who've voiced these characters in Advent Children/Crisis Core/Kingdom Hearts Series/Dissidia that I would actually be disappointed if they weren't the voice actors for the remake tbh. Through all those games I've kinda established that's what they sound like in English.
Even if Square Enix remade this game and it was an awful remake, the original game still forever exists. And really, if Dirge of Cerberus couldn't hurt FF7's name, nothing really could at this point.
FF12 remaster hasn't been confirmed yet to my knowledge.
Considering that they most likely will be using Final Fantasy XV's Luminous Engine, we most likely won't be waiting much longer than 2017 for this game, about a 2 year wait which isn't bad at all. The tech is already established, and that's the longest part of developing the game.
Considering we now have a new character named Lunafreya *Nox Flueret* to replace Stella *Nox Flueret*, and who look almost completely identical I don't think we've entirely lost much. Not to mention it seems that Luna is made specifically to be a love interest for Noctis, and this was probably a decision made as the FF main protagonist usually has a love interest.
Really hoping that if Square Enix doesn't, that modders will---address some low resolution textures and also some NPC's looking painfully untouched from the remastering process.
Indeed, from a developer's perspective I thought "wow this is great tech that probably will not be able to run on Consoles and Most PC's for next few years." In fact, just rendering this hair, the guy in the video's FPS counter is like 37-ish. It's not realistic to use yet in gameplay.
Anyone who's not a weaboo can still enjoy this gaeme without Japanese voices.
Uhh...yeah. That's sort of what happens you put a game into a system it's not compatible with.
It's actually because the party banter was extremely well written, and funny at times. It showed that the chemistry between the characters is really strong and well defined. It's one of the reasons that XIII's attempts to be story driven fell on it's ass because the chemistry between those characters wasn't strong.
That sucks. I got it for free with Type-0 HD.
Demos, especially ones many months to a year away from the final product are different than the final product.
Wow, shocking thank you Kotaku.
@DragonKnight - yes, and even though FFXV is showing 'sick visuals' it is more importantly what makes me hopeful is that they're showing extremely sick gameplay.
This looks better than I even ever could've possible imagined it...this game TRULY is trying to be the greatest Final Fantasy of all time. What Square Enix is doing here is absolutely revolutionary.
Given that the demo is Bigger than FFXIII's gran pulse, and that's a SECTIONED off part of Duscae, I can't even imagine how big this is gonna be.
