Because "with a system that is never in stock" means that new PS4 stock is sold as soon as it arrives in stores.

But, you already knew that...

It is strange to see people acting shocked that the Xbox One is failing so badly.

The Xbox 360:

* Was rushed out the door a year early in the US and full year and a half in Europe to try to pad out its installed base numbers.

* Was 200 dollars cheaper than the PS3

* Had the RRoD and other absurd hardware failure inflate the 360 installed base numbers by 10s of million

And Microsoft still came in last place. ...

The PS3 outsold the 360 in its very first year and every single year it has been on the market.

And the PS3 was the first console ever to launch with a brand new disc format that was incredibly expensive and cost to manufacture them dropped rapidly once PS3 production got underway allowing Sony to drop the price of the PS3.

"eliminated the rumors"

Heh.

Getting outsold 2-1 in the US by Sony.

Getting outsold 5-1 in Europe by Sony.

Microsoft has given up even trying to compete with Sony in Japan.

The PS4 is already over 6 million and roughly double the Xbox One installed base worldwide.

The PS4 is selling at a rate of about 1 million a month and is on track to hit 10 million around May.

LOL

You can understand the gaming press being desperate to try to manufacture a narrative to generate page hits where there is some sort of desperate struggle going on between Sony and Microsoft.

But, Titanfall on the Xbox One??? just LOL

It's a graphically downgraded PC port of mediocre 6v6 online game Call of Doody with Mechs game that no one would care about if Microsoft wasn't desperately trying to hype it.

Especially since staff that get let go when a company moves are all going to be non-essential.

The Xbox One is running an outdated Source engine at only 792p and a very shaky 30fps.

The PS3 is easily able to run GT5/GT6 at 1080p 60fps. While the Xbox One had to have massive downgrades just to get Forza to run at 1080p 60fps.

It's about as powerful as the PS3.

"2 years from now ppl can expect a 350 buck ps4 on the market, but by then it will be like 20 to 30 million ps4 in the wilderness"

Agree with everything you said except the 20 to 30 million in 2 years.

The PS4 is on track to hit 10 million in May. With the Japan launch the PS4 should be just over 6 million worldwide and is selling at about 1 million a month.

Sony could be closing in on 20 million by the end of 2014 to early 2015.

> Some people like to act like MS aren't in panic mode right now, they say "X1 is selling fine"

The same people who said "My 360 has never gotten a RRoD"

The Xbox One just bombed in its one viable market, the US, with only 140k sales. No sales coming from Japan. And Microsoft looks like they are already dead in Europe. Even in the UK Microsoft is bombing in sales.

At the current rate of sales for the Xbox One it is ...

Exactly.

You can just feel the seething anger Killzone 2 creates in fanboys.

Just the name or sight of the game makes an utter mockery of every bit of BS and garbage they so desperately wanted to believe about the graphical power of the PS3 compared to the wimpy 360.

And the fact that Killzone 2 was the very best of all fps games of last gen with its unmatched and amazing AI and incre...

"Ridiculous, the amount of slander they get."

When you have the Xbox almost entirely built upon those crappy shiny green power ranger fps games it pretty much guarantees that every single Xbox fan in the media is desperate to trash these amazing developers.

There were Xbox fanboy sites like GamesRadar that someone on neogaf collected and posted their six month long desperate and sickening attempts at smearing Killzone 2.

When the &#...

Because there have been multiple news items of Microsoft and Amazon being in talks. But Amazon wouldn't be buying Xbox they would be trying to pick up the piece of the Xbox division for cheap to use for their own gaming plans.

Putting some one in charge of the Xbox division just three months after launch who has openly talked about shutting it down or dumping off the parts of the Xbox on to another company?

Wow. Things really are moving fast.

"Microsoft may have enough money to throw around"

They don't. Microsoft wouldn't be selling a 500 dollar underpowered piece of junk console if they had money to throw around.

Microsoft couldn't even spend the money to pay for Titanfall to be an Xbox exclusive - a title that is somehow supposed to save the Xbox One - and anyone with a mid-range PC can play the game.

The PS4 is about 6 million now. 9 million by May sounds very possible. Sony is selling about a million a month right now. Maybe a bit more if the Japan sales are very good.

The PS2 sold 155 million over 13 years on the market.
The PS3 has sold 85 million in its first 7 years on the market.

The PS3 while being 200 dollars more expensive than the PS4 is right now at launch is selling at a slightly slower rate than the PS2 did. The PS4 should have no trouble reaching PS2 level installed base numbers.

The PS2 sold 80 million more consoles after its price dropped to 200 dollars and lower in the second half of its sales life. ...

Sony just sold about 1.1 million PS4s from January 1st to February 8th. That is just about 900k a month while stockpiling PS4s for the Japan launch and stores being almost completely sold out. With the Japan sales now coming in the PS4 should easily reach a million a month.

While the Xbox One just sold only 140k in the US last month and add on some small number of sales in the UK and the installed base of the PS4 is rapidly going to go from 2x, to 3x, to 4x by the end of 2014...
