I am going to give it a shot tonight and we'll see how I make out. I will break out the Snes for the controller so I can feel right at home.
I am happy that you guys took the time to highlight such an awesome game. I don't know how old you guys are but some games aren't as easy as I remember them. I use to breeze through the Mega Man series on both Nes and Super Nes but I tried to play the series on the Wii U virtual console and I was terrible. I don't even think I could get past the first level of those games. Old school side scrollers take precision, reflexes, and patience. These are traits I now lack, I guess.
I thought the original Contra on both arcade and Nes was not too hard. Super C in the arcade was very difficult for me to play but the Nes version was very forgiving. Contra III may have been easier for me because I played the hell out of the game.
One of my favorite games of all time I just downloaded the game from the Wii U eshop and it is still awesome to play after all this time. I wish they would remake the game with updated graphics.
Edit: this game is very challenging but its not as hard as the guys that were playing it makes it seem. These guys really suck at the game. There have much harder Contra games out there than Alien Wars.
I have a ps4 as well but I am interested mostly in the Wii U version I could get it for the ps4 or PC for the better graphics but I am really interested in seeing how they implement the gamepad and that might make the game more fun for me.
Have you even been on the Wii U eshop? There are a lot of cool indie games on there and the library is only going to grow.
Maybe mii-gamer should write his own article. He definitely did more research than the person that wrote this opinion piece.
Well it turns out that the cancellation was just an error. Now the trolls can go back under their bridges.

Meanwhile, Sony's stock dropped 6% even with the success of the PS4. I don't see that being reported as much as Nintendo's stock woes.
It's sad because this was my favorite game to play on PS4. Now I won't even turn the game on.
Get Ryse!!! Ignore the reviews. It is a very good game especially at that price. I bought the game for $39.19 at Best Buy with the weekly deal price and Gamers Club. I also bought Forza and Dead Rising 3. Forza is good but Dead Rising 3 has me hooked.
You can get them at a even lower price if you get them at Best Buy and have the Gamer's Club Unlocked.
Wow a positive article about Nintendo and all I can hear is crickets. I bet you there won't be too much action in the comment section for this article but I bet you if it was a negative article the fanboys be out full force.
@urwifeminder I bet you some of the people that disagreed with you never even played Forza on the Xbox One. I'll even take it one step further, I bet you at least half of those disagrees you got from people probably never even played Gran Turismo 6.
Why should they prioritize going to third-party? They're still the most profitable video game company out there. Check your facts and look it up before your poor attempt at trolling. Nintendo is actually more stable finacially than your precious Sony. Congrats on wasting one of your two bubbles. It amazes me how the fanboys trash Nintendo every chance they get but secretly want Nintendo's games on their favorite console.
You could get it at that price if you were gamers club unlocked member. The games that were $49.99 I got for $39.99.
Let's just hope this update fixes things. The December update fixed a few issues and caused new issues.
