They're doing the same thing with SWTOR so it doesn't suprise me.They are changing the rules with dlc/expansion packs to justify what they are doing and charging for it.
And battle packs, seems like the brought that over from SWTOR too. More and more ways to milk people for even more money. Meh, i'll wait till the Premium edition comes out next year and get it under $40 bucks. Not worth it atm.....
I understand the whole IP is owned by respawn thing but i also believe it will at some point come to the PS4. I do HOWEVER find it funny that this game is expected by some to be on PS4 because its published by a third party like EA, but GTA5 on PC is treated as not. Just had to be said....
Anyone thats played FFXI is used to this. Don't get me wrong there were alot of morons everywhere, but the way some japanese players acted on that game was a little more than just racist. So to see its the same in FFXIV now isn't shocking

This so much. Only reason i'd have picked up an x1 was for forza. But since my CSR Elite won't work on the x1 screw them. I'll just play GT6 and PC racers now since i've got a good rig :D

For the people that are saying it is an option, you've obviously never used the kinect to do so or know someone that has. The problem with using it as the mic is it picks up everything. From the sounds of the game they are playing (especially if they are using a surround sound system), to the family "noise".
Sorry it is NOT an option to use the Kinect 2.0 as a mic, as 1.0 has shown us how bad that option can be.
This. I've been gaming on consoles for 30+ years now, and with all the dlc garbage and just plain greed i'm moving to PC for the first time ever. I stopped buying games for $60+ this gen a while ago, i learned to wait for the GOTY edition and thats sad.
What i will say is sessler is on point and people need to take the fanboy glasses off and listen. The "omg day 1 purchase" attitude doesnt help when companies promise the world and deliver trash. If we as gamers...
If (and thats a big "IF") this is true, then my earlier thought of the online pass dying because of microtransactions might be spot on. If they got rid of the online pass and it had nothing to do with microsoft, then its this.
Cant make money off of people if they cant play the game, so online passes out, and microtransactions have become the new revenue.
Oh i totally agree that it has alot to do with the xbone and the drm that it involves. I'm just stating that microtransactions are the future for EA and thats a big part of the decision also. Personally i'm waiting to see what ps4 does with drm.

The one thing i think everyone seems to have overlooked is that its in EA's interest to let everyone play the game now. This is because of MICROTRANSACTIONS.
Why try to make money on online passes when there is a bigger pile of money to be made on microtransactions. THIS i think, is the real reason the online pass is history. Can't make money on microtransactions if people are locked out of the games because of an online pass.
Does this game support 3D ? I'm gonna guess it doesn't and thats why it looks nice. I always knew 3D was why they kept things plain in Gt5 to support it.
Optimized engine sounds good, but i cringe at how many times "making dlc easier" is said in this article........
I stopped caring about forza because of the bad dlc approach they took, damn it PD don't make me hate you too !!! I just hope if it is about hitting us with dlc it's alteast reasonable but I guess we'll just have to wait and see if this is even true yet.

Sorry that doesn't fly because they have preorder items. There's a gun and in game currency (i believe) and i think a digital book. So they had preorder items, so why add the hard mode to that ?
The only justification for online passes is greed. The initial sale is all they should get. I don't understand how people can say its not supporting the dev. I guess buying used cars isn't supporting the car makers. Or a house thats not new............ you get the picture.
The issue here is that companies like EA see the money gamestop makes on used games, and have now tried to find a way to get in on it. And THAT is why online passes exist.
Forza 4 did that. After the 6 car packs came out every month after there was a new car pack that was not included in the "season pass". They did say the season pass was for exactly the 6 packs but still.

That tv is good for movies @24p. But the tv doesn't support games well. Was reviewed on techfeed and was shown to only support up to 30fps i believe for anything running on it (or upscaled to 4k dont remember which)
This is why i'm not so hyped about "next gen". Its just more nickel and diming and doesn't seem to be ready to stop anytime soon. I'll pass for now....
