In what magical whimsical world? I can't remember the last time I played a game that was "complete", if there is such a thing. There is always room for improvement with something so complex. Hence our continued existence in an age of updates.
Might as well keep putting the multiplayer through it's paces right up until mass release. Seems like the sensible thing to do. Gold means the game is ready for mass production.
