@Convas
Oh man, that is some horrible pop in textures and very short distance to be relying on LOD swap outs.
Even if you ignore the obvious struggles; there was nothing in that video on par with Infamous.
Save your money for Forza micro-transactions....
You've bought the game; now buy the content!
While Ryse textures have been halved; this is pretty telling.
The controller light is angled downward; controllers have had LEDs for some time; no one ever complained about them.
Heck, doesn't the big arse xbox logo on the xbox one controller light up?
Do you understand what 50% means?
A Civic?
Uh.......
Naughty Dog is host to an internal Sony development team that is primarily in charge of developing development tools; they are code named ICE Team.
There is a good 95% chance that Naughty Dog had access to the first batch of kits; they were likely even working with the demo of the kits; before the hardware was even finalized.
Also do not forget that Naughty Dog is currently set up to handle development for two games. The team from Uncharted has been silent fo...
The extra boxes are typically for controllers. If I recall with the PS3 devkits; these were shipped independently in their own box. Each controller was also in the final packaging; which was pretty strange.
I have experience with 360 and PS3 devkits; but they were shipped to us from our publisher. I believe the packaged boxes were from Sony then forwarded from our publisher; as they looked exactly like those boxes (same writing style on the sides).
Devkits are used by developers to play their game; they are typically close to the specs of a standard console (usually with a slight bump in specs; to accommodate additional tools being used).
Each developer and the testers will need access to a devkit; in order to play the game. This is especially the case with games in development; as you are typically emulating from your computer or running it off a flash drive; they also enable a whole set of development tools to be used...
This article is based on a misquote.
The only part of the Western release under discussion is the actual date; not whether it will happen at all.
Like mentioned by half the comments so far; they have already debuted the game on this side of the world; the game has also only been shown in English.
I mean... how can some of you be missing the obvious logic in all of this?
Individuals like thetruthx1 enjoy the bad taste Microsoft leaves in their mouth.
Agreed; it's largely due to hardware design problems; which are now translating to production problems.
The Xbox One is being rushed; even Forza will not include most of the content on disc; requiring you download content on the first day.
This system has all the signs of RROD #2; hopefully they get the overheating and low yields figured out and don't have to further downgrade their specs.
This guy is the bar that other people who went full retard attempt to reach.
Naughty Dog only solidified their role atop the best developers list; after this clown left the company. Since his departure they have worked on all 3 Uncharted games and The Last of Us. All 4 games were the best games available the years they released. Nothing to see here folks; just a guy riding coat tails.
Don't look now; but a PS4 developer just mentioned using technology Xboners thought were exclusive to their mystic "teh cloud".
The clouds and stars will be processed to reflect real world conditions. This exact same methodology could be applied to AI or Physics. Technologically speaking; there is no difference.
AI and Physics would need to be synced to the second; so over relying on "teh cloud" would be a bad idea (any newbie who ever...
@Nocando
That's a 2 way street. Xboners are putting all their faith in the cloud and the promises associated with it; as you all know the Xbone console is at a disadvantage in every single technical aspect.
Your arguments pretty much sound like: "I don't need technology; I have faith and magic!"
Microsoft is using PR spin to sell a feature that has already been used on any game that ever utilized a server. There is nothing a...
@Para
"Unless you know, the game is made for a console where it's almost guaranteed to be the same for all users.
One of the main benefits for consoles is that devs have one target, and know the specs are the same for every owner of a given platform. "
Wow. the point just flew way over your head. Is the cloud running inside the Xbone or does the Xbone access it through the internet? Use your head.
Devs DO NOT KNOW what t...
@force
Thanks. Some people just accept PR bait. The Xboner crowd is in particular highly taken by bait; with no research or attempt to see if any of it makes any theoretical sense.
@Opie
I think you should learn what "cloud computing" means. Your comment is a huge fail.
That's like saying water isn't wet.
Xbox One will be the lead; you want to start with the inferior hardware. Then you can scale and apply the better technology on top of the Xbox one version to produce the better looking PS4.
The GPU in the PS4 is at least twice as powerful as the Xbox One; the RAM also puts the Xbox One to shame. The only place it can compete is the CPU: with that said; unlike the fictional power of the cloud; PS4 has already shown the benefits of being able to utilize their GPU for processes ...
The only people disappointed by the lack of power this gen are xbox 360 fans; who thought the xbone was not going to suck.
This is a pretty distinctly varied generation:
WiiU = Worst Hardware/Power
Xbone = Sizable improvement from WiiU
PS4 = The most sizable improvement compared to the next best
PS4 is nearly in a tier on their own.
So please don't speak for all of us xboners; PS4 owners are damn excited about this ge...
