Yeah, at least they are giving us a few choices, but it just isn't the same. For some reason I can't stand a game that forces control schemes on me. You have to learn their controls or you don't play type of thing. It isn't all bad, just a minor annoyance. I agree though, they should trust the gamers more. After all, it's what makes the gamer comfortable. That has no effect on the company itself.

Halo Reach is considerate enough to come with a nice set of control packs though. You can switch to Recon I think it is, to get the original Halo feel bad. Is it just me or does anyone else miss the days where you could pick your own controls?

Unfortunately yeah..

The only thing we can hope to gain from this is that the other companies grow to a larger state and in turn, need people with video game and video rental experience to apply. We live in a wretched world right now where everything, good or bad, seems to have a terrible effect on the job market.

That's incredibly true. They put a Blockbuster Box, the Blockbuster Express I think it's called up here where I live. I guess they were trying to morph to keep up with Redbox but they did a horrible job..It's an incredibly laggy machine, takes forever to get your discs, the boxes are a pain in the neck. It's just a horrible ordeal.

I don't think it's just Blockbuster. I think we can expect to see this with a lot of small and large "brick and mortar" video rental stores. It's just smarter and more cost effective to go with Amazon, Netflix, and Gamefly.
