Like you, I never really followed the game until recently, and now I have to say, I am IMMENSELY looking forward to it. Drooling, in fact.
And the thing about the Berserk DLC is really cool as well. I don't personally read it, but I have wanted to. And if there's a movie coming out, I may just give that a go. ^_^
From what you described, the combat (sans grappling) sounds incredibly similar to Monster Hunter, another Capcom series. I really love those...
Yep, I did read the article, thanks. And sorry about the plural. xD
And yeah, I do definitely see where the author comes from, comparing the roots of games like this to games like Skyrim. Being compelled to play games for the wrong reasons.
This... this makes me smile.
Some really good points in this. I have to say I think I know exactly how you feel, despite not playing XIII-2 yet. Lately I have been feeling just (or more) compelled to play games with good gameplay conversely to good story, and that wasn't always the case. I also feel like games are focusing much less on story these days...
Yeah, I think Raphael will still be in it, but this guy is totally different looking if you ask me.
I'm pretty sure each one isn't in a new location. Brotherhood had mostly the same locales as AC2. Sure, they looked different, but they were basically the same places. Same character, too. A few new mechanics.
UMvC3 will have a bunch of new characters, and a few new mechanics. So isn't it updating a little more than ACB? (story not taken into account.)
Though, I still agree it doesn't belong on a list with CoD and Madden. It isn't even CLO...
I kind of wish that they would just fix the old one instead... but then that would be a bunch of DLC characters to buy.
Still, better than laying down $60 for a whole new game.
But alas... if Phoenix Wright and maybe Monster Hunter are in it... I will do it anyway.
I think I like the new character. It looks like his play style will be something like a cross between Talim and Raphael. Talim for the hold on his sword, and Raphael, obviously, for his style.
Maybe a touch of Cervantes as well. >:3
Okay... the fact that there's a grammar error in the title makes me not want to read this. Not to mention that I don't like to read rants.
I like Capcom games. And they aren't the only ones that don't listen to their fans, but that doesn't mean I don't like them. They make good games. What else does a game developer really need to do?
Yeah, I agree it's kind of directed toward casual gameplay, but van Dongen says that's because he want it to be fully accessible. But if you ever play it, Supersonic and Speed of Light difficulties make it crazy difficult. I didn't want to put this in the review, but I haven't unlocked the fourth track yet, because I find it too difficult.
In other words, it seems it's trying to appeal to both the casual and hardcore audience, and, regrettably, it doesn...
Heck. To the yes.
I'm ready to kick some Marvel butt with my "OBJECTION!!"s of death.
"TAKE THAT!"
This definitely looks interesting. I especially like the name. Pretty. :3
I didn't read much (scared of spoilers) but this seems to be a very nice look at the game. Limbo is one of those games that seems to affect me, even though I have, regrettably, not gotten to play it.
A little too personal to be a good read (from an outside source like myself), and there is a pretty big typo.
Other than that, nice recollection. ;)
I think this is a really good idea. As it is, 14 days isn't a very long time to get into a game and convince people to play it. But at the same time... some people (like me) will end up just playing until I get to level 20. It makes it seem, more or less, like a free version of the game. Not like they NEED any more money, though...
In any case, does anyone know when this is going to start?
Yes... but that was time VERY WELL wasted, imo. :D
A little too personal of an article for my taste, but I sure do hope for your sake that Gears 3 turns out well! (And a little bit for mine...)
I absolutely LOVE FFX. In fact, I could say it's my favorite game of all time. But then again, I wasn't much into game culture when it came out (I think I was eight or something), and I was oblivious as to how it was received. I just knew that I loved it, and that was all that mattered to me.
And if you ask me... that's really all that I think should matter. xD
I didn't post it to troll, genius. I just found it, and it hadn't been posted previously. I'm new to the site, and I didn't know people were so picky that they only read "new" things. So what, it was written before their apologies? It shows what was thought before.
Gotta say I'm probably looking forward to Path of Exile the most. Talk about bang for your *not* buck.
