Actually, this video most likely fake:
http://battlefieldo.com/?p=...
This was the first time the trailer was released, and I didn't see anything distinguishing PS3 vs PC in game images.
The OG video only says "Actual game footage" and does not distinguish between the two. While I do hope that the PS3 build is exactly like this, this video is no confirmation of this.
@RememberThe357~ While I do agree with most of what you say, I do have to point out that the bailout is not illogical. Let me point you back to an example similar to 2008 financial crisis where in 1990, Japan asset price crisis landed their nation into a 10 year stagnation. Regional/National Banks went under, and the government did nothing to help them out. And it was Ben Bernanke, the current chairman of the Federal Reserve, who decided to submit the bill to bailout the banks in the mortgage...
@wenis~ if you read the article, the writer asked the makers of the original clip said they never gave permission to MS to use it. Which means MS did use the footage without prior notice. And that is equivalent to stealing.
They should make a Mythbusters version of this. But I doubt they have the budget to buy or rent an actual Bugatti Veyron and trash it after the jump.
By the way, I've made a Mclaren MP4-12C fly 50-100 ft in the air in GT5. That's more unrealistic. (Running opposite traffic on Daytona). This jump seems quite plausible despite what some naysayers say.
@Skizelli~
The reason you won't find a real car doing this on a paved track because:
1. You won't find actual racers that will take an incline drop at that speed.
2. No racer would have the balls to pull a stunt like that on the fly.
Most actual racers take risks, but not ones that intentionally jeopordize the life of people they are racing with.
This is so painfully obvious that it's a fake.
I love the review math. (15+14+17+15)/4= 7.6ish. Not 7/10. Silly French people.
What makes the CORE of a Racing Sim? Rims? Swappable engines? Being able to Rice out your car? A rewind feature? Oh please. That's something I'd expect from an arcade racer like the NFS series, not a racing sim. But then again, that's my opinion. You have yours.
In GT5, the CORE seems to be the racing physics. Or possibly recreating the handling characteristics of a car correctly. Or recreating a true racing experience accounting for correct slipstream distance, ...
Ah! I get it! A delayed game gets a delayed review. Very Funny IGN.
Currently, Amir212's ongoing review of GT5 on GTPlanet (other than online component since it's not up) seems to be more comprehensive than anything IGN has ever put up.
Why the hell would I ever need a rewind feature? It's also not something KY puts in his game anyways, so like that matters.
I'd like one Ariel Atom please!
Make that to go. On DLC.
All seriousness aside, I'm sure there's DLC for the missing cars. Just not sure it'll all be premium. (ie the reasonably priced cars)
Overshadowed by Black-Ops? You mean GT5?
Anywho, I'm getting both NFS:HP and GT5. Both look wonderful for my sim and arcade racer needs.
Sure eventually it'll close the gap in the long run. I see no sign from Microsoft that they are going to garner any kind of momentum in 2011. If Xbox doesn't have anything much announced other than Gears of War 3 for Fall 2011, Sony will have a crushing momentum to catch up very close by then. (Considering all the AAA exclusives Sony has yet to reveal a release date for; and the lack of AAA exclusives Microsoft has even yet to reveal/anticipate.)
Of course, all this s...
This game went from 'Not on my Radar' to pretty much Day 1 purchase. The lighting and sound from preview videos look and sound fantastic.
@frostypants:
I got something like this: http://www.pondsolutions.co...
and mounted the wheel to it. I put the folding table under a heavier table that was taller and put my HD LCD monitor on the Heavier table. I put the shifter on an arm of a heavy chair and use another chair to sit. Kinda improvised.
The thing that is hardest to determine is the amount of people "owning an Xbox wanting a PS3 for GT5" vs people "owning a PS3 wanting a Xbox because of Kinect".
In the hardcore demographic, it's easy to see that it'll probably be former rather than the latter, but in the casual gamer demographic, Kinect is likely to push out more systems than GT5.
Well, however it goes, it'll be interesting to see how much of an effect Kinect...
Article title is misleading. It's "not all tracks have weather". Instead they write "all tracks does not feature weather", which is false.
And KY never intended to put weather on all the tracks.
And yet, if you look at it objectively, without hate for Cliffy B., you'd see some truth in his statement. If Sony pushed harder in the female demographic, there is a possibility of more sales. I don't really feel like his comments were belittling Heavy Rain. He was more recommending what a game like that can market to in the future.
Did you even read the article? It's just an interview with KY. Not a Release Date speculation article. (Although, it does good indicators as to when GT5 might be released)
But yes, the other speculation articles are silly. Very silly.
This video is highly suspicious. While I'd like to think it's real, the first video I watched from here:
http://battlefieldo.com/?p=...
says "Actual game footage", which is what I think DICE would've done to avoid spoiling the reveal of the PS3 build. Plus the beginning of this video taken from machinima.com and well, I feel it makes it more likely to be edited than anything.
