I wouldn't mind seeing a little more flavor in some of the more lackluster story lines I've played through. Half of the issue with RPG story line's (Or really, any story line) is that the characters just aren't interesting. They're all the same person. I have a few friends that make my life interesting, and they do so because they're all ridiculous, and different. Nothing wrong with a little flavor.
No, you don't. This article is just delayed.
Old news is old.
That was 3 people explaining what was going on in the video. It was like an introduction to FFXIV. There'll be more.
Me likey. The game is drastically different from XI from what is known so far, but in the end only playing it will tell. And I like that. I like XI, but I'm not ready for another game that needs so much commitment to enjoy. I have high hopes for 14, especially if they stick to everything that they've announced so far.
"Japanese initial release packages of FINAL FANTASY XIII include a Special Offer Campaign Code for FINAL FANTASY XIV. This code can be used in FINAL FANTSY XIV to obtain an In Game Secret Item.
Currently, there are no details regarding how this code will be used and what type of item the code will provide. Additionally, possible inclusion of this code in North American or European initial release versions of FINAL FANTASY XIII has not been determined at this time."
The campaign ticket is not to apply for the FFXIV Beta. It is to obtain an In-Game item on FFXIV. You can apply for the beta on the FFXIV Website, it's random who is picked. It is also only for Japan at this time.
Fail article is fail.

Yeah, society got the way it is today because Boycott is impossible. ::rolleyes::
If you think it's worth fighting for, then 'effin do it! Bigass companies think they're so damn awesome, but the truth is they're only awesome because of the customers that give them money.
WUTNOW.
Maybe in 5 or so minutes you'll think it's funny.
Yeap, in the midst of patching
Maybe, but I highly doubt the patch till be today.
The maintenance message implies it's just that, maintenance. But hey, I'm all for it being released today so, here's to hoping.
The fact that SE bullshit us by saying "OH yeah, we'll be around more often." and 90% of the community was like "Oh, okay, thanks, we believe you now!" upsets me. The outrage should have lasted from the time they ninja nerfed enfeeb magic to now.
I used to be a bigtime FFXI player also. I put a lot of effort and time into the game, but throughout the last year, SE has given the playerbase absolute crap.
The SE of yore was pretty cool, though customer service has never been something that they're interested in. But things have changed, and the company treats every single (non-JP?) like crap. Lackluster updates where programmers focus on /bell noises as opposed to actual game content, craptastic "Add-On Scenario's"...
This guy is only in charge of the train wreck that is ffxiv. Just because it says it's Final Fantasy doesn't mean it speaks for every game in the series. He can only do so much.
But that is beyond the point. The point is that at they are actually trying. They devoted a ton of time, resources, and money into this to try to appeas the fans that were not at all impressed. If it were possible with ANY FF, it would be an online one. This guy has undertaken a huge task, and...
