You should actually read the article before reporting it. The review clearly says the game is inappropriate.
Why is the gaming community so afraid of politicians? It is because many gamers can't make a coherent argument citing the First Amendment?
No one said GTA is non-fiction. But unlike the equally immoral The Slaying of Sandy Hook Elementary, GTA glorifies criminal behavior.
Neither this game nor the review romanticizes the Sandy Hook murders, so your criticism falls flat.
It's no better or worse than reviewing the latest GTA game. Not to mention the fact that one might feel led to write about a game that one has recently played.
I'm sorry, but the Internet does not serve appropriate justice to every company out there. You seem to be describing a utopia based on one example.
The video points out that the 2DS is being marketed to young children and that it will sell and get Nintendo a lot of attention. Did you watch the video?
Capcom sounds like a Good Samaritan compared to this.
That's not what Lobb said in regard to the second season:
"You can pay $20 again and now you have 16 characters, or you pay $40 again and you'll get the everything version," Lobb said.
Key word being "again."
Haha, immersion? Have you ever driven a car? Grand Theft Auto can't even get driving down!
Sounds like an elitist bubble. Not everyone is ga-ga for GTA. Maybe talk to a few people outside of your small circle.
I would imagine that people who don't care for Grand Theft Auto wouldn't want to play Grand Theft Auto Online, but that's just a wild guess.
That's a good point. It's truly an ugly game from a visual standpoint.
Hey Enemy, apparently you are instructed to rape the woman you've shot. But yes, as the article here states, it is a simulation of rape within the movie-in-the-game.
Who said anything about banning the game?
I'm sure such a child would shy away from violent games. The question about rape is different: should a game better inform the player that rape occurs in the game? Like Bob Reinhard over at Low on Life says: “‘By all means, include rape in a game if it’s that important to your artistic vision, to the point you’re trying to make, but place a warning at the beginning of it so someone doesn’t get completely caught off guard.”
I'm not offended by this perspective.
However, I do think there is a lot of overthinking involved when one has a problem with the term "gamer."
Hell, why not go ahead and compare Microsoft to Jesus Christ or Martin Luther King, then? Great men who were wrongly killed - just like Microsoft.
The reality is that people who call this a "witch hunt" are simply butthurt about Microsoft's terrible PR campaign and the resulting chaos.
I didn't reach far enough into my own ass, obviously.
Pussification. I remember when I first heard George Carlin say that word.
AVGN channels that genuine anger I felt as a child playing NES games. His stuff is more profound than what some people think.
