I've been waiting for an article like this. Somebody describing the builds. Artillery towers may replace binoculars. The beam turret brings to mind SWB memories...of how you couldn't hit anything with it. Trying to hit Hawks with a beam might not be too practical unless it IS actually lock-on or AI controlled. Or it just had insane DPS that you just need a tap or two. Just anything better than the garbage that were turrents in warhawk.
Supply depots sound really good....
How does it feel slow when you haven't played it? If you mean it looks slow, it's because we've gotten mostly SP which in the level was mostly defensive. MP will probably be crazy fast from the small tidbits I saw.
There is dashing FYI by the looks of it. Don't need rolls though. Wouldn't fit the pace of warhawk and I don't see how it would help Starhawk as the build is now.
and while it's definitely unique, Brutal legend is a recent game that has tried it. Savage 2 I think, as well as Citizen Kabuto.
Even though it's better than it's not wholly unique. Now they can learn from the mistakes from games that did it poorly and learn from the ones that did it well and actually be fun.
I rarely keep up with HHG stuff, but if all of his casts are like this than I made a good decision in not following him.
Way to flamebait.
Starhawk isn't out yet, and it's elements might be more akin to other RTS than starcraft. They definently don't need a comparisons. They'll probably be as different as mirrors edge is to uncharted. Both have platforming...so one crushes the other :B.
Starcraft is a game that was meant to be played at the highest level. RTS are the most competitive genre out there. The competition fueled sponsorships, leagues, and now basicall...
Yes, that's what it means
"Real-time strategy (RTS) is a sub-genre of strategy video game which does not progress incrementally in turns. In an RTS, as in other wargames, the participants position and maneuver units and structures under their control to secure areas of the map and/or destroy their opponents' assets."
In other words, it's a strategy game that isn't turn based. Real time means your doing everything at once or in "...
I didn't like them, but it wasn't because of the balance. Warhawks ate jetpacks up, even more so than everything else, I just didn't like how they changed the CTF. Seemed way to random and annoying with people just turbo boosting into the flag and running, made rifle battle even more annoying than they already were, kinda gimmicky. But I digress, I can live with them. I know a-lot of people liked them.
They can keep the Jetpacks in the trashcan, but I'm willing to bet Jeeps won't be the only ground vehicles in the game. It's an early build after all.
Well thats common when people see new game footage.
Anyway so far map layout seems mostly similar to that of Warhawk. The weapons seems similar, but with a different futuristic skin.
Hawk combat seems similar, except now that they've replaced mech mode with hover mode the warhawks will have better balance theoretically and not be overly dominant as they were in Warhawk. No more "herp derp" hover mode zoom in and out breaking lock-on crap. You...
No, it would still get noticed. You just wouldn't be blathering about those evil Sony Fanboys interested in something your not if it was mulit-plat.
Ofcourse they shouldn't. You'd have to have a pretty bland taste in games to want Starhawk be more like COD/Battlefield with different aesthetics.
They did their own thing, and I commend them for that. No reason to copy something that's already homogenizing the shooter genre and compete for the same user base in a battle you won't win, because that would be what they're doing trying to copy Battlefield/COD mechanics. and the game would be terrible too. If ...
Nice to see their Starcraft fans. They're implementing RTS mechanics in their game. ****ing sick.
Don't just base it on fighting games...most of them have wank material in one way or another.
2D MK girls wasn't that bad. I think when they started copying other 3D games in the PS2 era it got the habit.
Not that I want involved in subjects like this anyway, just saying fighting games have this in all the ones still alive, even VF, the most photo realistic FG has some "outfits".
Ofcourse it will, they just leaked Starhawk
Ugh, but I have no MONEEEEY.
I ran through uncharted 2 and MGS4 in one day. I tried to go through AC2 but I got to the part I hated and lost interest.
Giving anyone a laugh is a pleasure, no thanks needed.
They are pretty common amongst games. I mean, an AK variant and the M4 are dead given. P90 and MP7 are also highly , highly likely.
I think they will. I'd be surprised and upset if they didn't.
FAL, SAW, AUG, M14 semi and there a-lot of others I can't think of off the top of my head.
Maybe, is she hot?
@above Sounds good to me. Although I don't think liking an inanimate network structures qualifies as homo-sexuality. Maybe another word
Make the monsters smarter and deadlier, and do what MH back on the PS2 tried to encourage, that the monsters were scary to fight and 1 one 1 battles were terrifying/risky. More like hunting and stalking than a hack/n slash RPG.
I think they really refine or reinvent or just make their melee combat deeper. It would work wonders not only for critics but just getting more people into their game. I mean tri did have the most additions for the weapon classes, but I really think mo...
