Agreed. :) Man I just love that whole series. Still mourning the loss of Silent Hills... will for a while.
Fatal Frame 2 was good, but Clock Tower was the series I went with in that style instead because it just was more intense to me, especially Clock Tower 3. Nothing's worse than when your character just won't freaking move because you let her get too scared and Scissorman is on the other side of a damn curtain. Amnesia: The Dark Descent is a great game, I agree, and the custom stories only made it even more fun for the most part, but isn't one I played a whole lot, and you're ri...
Had to put in Five Nights at Freddy's due to it's impact, you know? It's definitely inspired a lot of indie devs to try different ideas, though more atmosphere and less jump scares would be nicer. As for (Forbidden) Siren... now that's one I missed. Dead Space, though, I love, hence honorable mention. I debated on that one and F.E.A.R. but had to go with F.E.A.R.
This game just honestly looks gorgeous.
You really can't ever go wrong with cooking mama... ever.
the graphics look kinda fun
I found myself wondering if this was really supposed to be a horror game or just more of a severely unsettling game. :)
Haha, oh it's a top selling point for me! Seems Funcom didn't plan ahead, but hopefully that'll get fixed soon.
I know right! :)
It largely depends on if it's so similar it seems like a clone or if it's kind of a spiritual successor like Allison Road was supposed to be to PT. Remakes and sequels are just something that seem common place these days, especially in movies. If it works for movies, maybe it makes sense that video games have followed suit.
I wish I had a PS VR, it looks stunning.
You hit the nail on the head, that's exactly it. Maybe it's that a lot of gamers are in their thirties now, and now view the world differently. Things that used to be acceptable have changed and evolved just like everything else in the gaming world.
It does almost feel like insecurity. Maybe it's the fact that this is his first outing as Kojima Productions and not with Konami, but I think we all know his work speaks for itself and doesn't need a busty woman to support it.
You're right, men are objectified too, it's just maybe a level of what is considered socially acceptable, like we're all used to seeing shirtless men in games. I know I don't mind how anti-shirt Dante from Devil May Cry (original series preferred) is.
Considering the absurdity, you make a good point. That's kind of part of the MGS world...
Coulda just said bullet-proof skin, I'm telling you. :) I love the man, but come on...
It's odd, that's for sure. Hopefully BadFly Interactive will learn from this mistake... I don't think we want to watch another Digital Homicide style meltdown again :)
I know a lot of people have been giving the art crap, but I really love it. This is kind of the only thing that might cause me to get a Switch right now :)
:) Me too. I instantly thought of Eternal Darkness... I would love to play that game again.
I do need to give that one a try. It's been on my list of games to get to for a while now.
