I like how ubisoft is not afraid of delaying a game if they don't think it is of an acceptable quality unlike certain other large publishers.

The problem with PC as a platform is you have to optimise for so many different hardware configurations.

To say the Witcher 2 was optimised and ran well at launch is a complete and utter lie. I had a GTX 580 at the time and it ran like ass.

No PC game runs well at launch these days and it takes so long for the game to be properly optimised and take real advantage of hardware.

MSAA as an anti aliasing solution? no thanks bro

I'm in two minds about this game

When it comes out for PC it is probably going to be so unoptimised and run like absolute crap and it will be a while before it is within reasonable specifications like the Witcher 2.

Which is why I wonder if it will be optimised well for PS4, if so il pick it up for that because I could not be bothered sitting around waiting for AMD/Nividia to get their shit together and push out drivers for the game.

Or I...

This micro transaction business is absolutely disgusting, I knew it would kick off big time after Rockstar tried to pull it off.

Now everyone and their mum is going to have £40 retail games with micro transactions everywhere trying to gouge the consumer at every conceivable angle.

I thought I would be spared this with Sony exclusive titles but it appears not.

With the state this game launched in all DLC should have been free there after.

It was the worst buggiest unoptimised PC launch I have ever seen.

Course it is probably Sega behind it all, they managed to destroy Company of Heroes 2 as well.

SEGA - Single handedly destroying some of the best PC RTS series.

@Gran Touring

And the exact problem is those large platoons of people never meet up and fight, the zergs just move around and rarely come into contact with each other.

If you join a platoon/zerg you are always scrambling for some action and kills because you always outnumber the enemy 10 to 1.

If you played the game for any length of time you would understand this. And I was in one of the biggest European outfits Outcasters who a majority of ...

Or it will bomb hard due to the bad game design which makes it very hard to find a decent battle were you are not getting zerged by 100 odd tanks and multiple clans.

80% of the game in my experience was looking at the map and travelling trying to find a good close to evenly numbered battle.

I will say when I found those battles it was one hell of an experience but the game design particularly with the map allows for to many smaller skirmishes to happen like o...

Yeah man Gabe Newell he is a nobody , Clearly we should look to developers like Randy Pitchford for inspiration and marketing ideas.

Seriously though the only problem with this is sacrificing the PC backwards compatibility, how will this thing run DX based games? That is the real question for steam OS.

4214d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

I would like to think Gabe Newell has more business sense and marketing sense than a bunch of yobs on N4G.

Keep in mind everyone said the same thing about Steam back in the day, look at where that is now.

But bring on the disagrees, you all clearly know so much more than one of the most successful people in the industry who is counted among the best and most genius of developers.

ROME is CIVILISATION!

ROME is ORDER!

ROME is POWER!

This game is underrated and the story is pretty good reminiscent of gladiator.

And everyone complains about how simplistic the combat is yet gobbles up games like the arkham series and assassins creed.

Movie to book is different though because it is visualising pages into a viewable format.

It can be done extremely well as Peter Jackson proved with Lord of The Rings which is IMO the best film trilogy to ever be made.

4214d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

Game movies can never be good because the game story and experience is so much better then the film will ever be.

Plus Hollywood will bastardise it in some form or another.
