I am beginning to fear that they might go (again) with some DLC-expansion crap which will force us to buy content for extra price (think Starcraft 2 going trilogy). I am a die hard fan of Diablo... no. I am an ULTRA MAD TO THE BONE fan of Diablo and I can't freaking wait for it to be finally released, so I hope they come up with some new class/game mechanic bombastic news rather than another slash for our wallets.
This is a flamebait article and by the amount of heat it has received already, I'd say its successful. Are they trying to reinvent hot water? PC version superior than console counterparts? Really? I did not expect that, especially for a game that was previously ONLY ON PC! And shut off the damned fanboy flames already, who the hell cares which version is better. Just buy the one for the console you own if you want the game and bang, you're on a horse.

They are an essential in modern warfare so you can't abandon 'em. I do hate when most of the people I play with online (no matter which game) tend to just pick a sniper and wait for someone to show up. Kills the pacing, the excitement of a good shootout. Like some have pointed out already, snipers can be a great attribution to a team, say in a 10 vs 10 match. I just fail to see the relevance of using a sniper in a fast paced shooter like Quake or Unreal.
Damn. Haven't read the comics but, Dante's words in DMC4 regarding Yamato (Keep it, it should stay in the family) kinda confirms this. I just wished they spent more time developing the characters and the story. Apart from the insane hack&slash gameplay and the overall challenge, a story and proper narration would just benefit a new DMC game.
Just make it less, uhm... "wall-humping, pitch-black to the point of I can't see shit" kind of game and all is forgiven.
Seriously... That game is nowhere near finished (last time Mike Morhaime the CEO of Blizzard speculated it won't be out in 2011? WTF!?) Who the hell cares about another MMO. Sure, WoW will require a fresh new competition which, undoubtedly will be triumphed by this new IP (touche, amirite) but Diablo 3 needs to get finished... we deserve to play that game!
Especially games that borrow heavily from very successful movies, i.e. Indiana Jones (I dare not say National Treasure). Flame bait set.

I agree with you but there's one little thing - when you have a gaming PC you can play all PC games. When you're buying a console, you limit yourself to just one platform. Sure I love Halo and Gears of War, but I also enjoy playing God of War, Killzone and Uncharted. Not to mention Mario and Zelda games on the Nintendo.
While I tend to agree with the general issues that pleague PC gaming such as the cost of hardware, the lower (non-existent) competitiveness and the general problem with piracy, I simply can't agree that PC gaming lacks exclusives. Sure, consoles will ALWAYS have more exclusives but damn it, can a console run Starcraft, Warcraft Diablo or any Warhammer game? Can a console ever run a MMORPG? Sure there will be some attempts at this in the future but you can never claim with certainty that ...
