Sony invested heavily in first party studios last generation and are doing even more this generation. It shows their commitment to providing PS4 adopters with quality, quantity and diversity. They've even admitted to losing a lot of money to promote and support projects which don't follow the mainstream formula, to provide gamers with interesting and fresh choices.

Yet it sold so well, it got an expansion and a sequel! #embarrassed to be a gamer
Yeah, I also expected a high quality story that would link in with the trailer somehow. Instead the Dead Island story was weak, with somewhat repetitive gameplay.
Methinks Liverpool lacks bite upfront !
Weight boys can't jump !!
Well, I respect your opinion, but MOST gamers and gaming journalists who played it absolutely adored it. It's my personal favourite of the last generation. And the story's conclusion was very far from cliche.
I'd buy that for a dollar!
