All Bobby can think about is the yacht he won't be able to buy this year....
In the Game of Markets, it's best not to peeve off the regulators by trying to become a monopoly. It's amazing, Microsoft keeps on making the same old mistakes. It's almost as if as an entity, their executives are incapable of learning. I understand that you want to stay ahead of your competitors, and I can see why acquiring Activision seemed like a good idea, but everything that's followed is just showing how Microsoft doesn't understand the gaming market.
Bobby, buddy, what did you expect? And now the EU is bound to slap some massive fines on both Activision and Microsoft. The deal may have seemed like a good time, Bob, but buddy, you're going to get EAed by Microsoft.
If there is going to be a TLOU3 it needs to be without Druckman's influence, TLOU2 remains a dumpster fire. But to be honest, I don't think they'll hit the highs they did with the first TLOU and the Uncharted games. How they reacted when fans criticised TLOU2 soured me against Naughty Dog to the point where I'll never buy any of their games.
If this review came from an outlet that wasn't kotaku I may have been inclined to take it seriously. However, it is kotaku, a site that's not even worthy of a click or my consideration.
"Let's increase the price of games, gamers will still buy plenty of games every month"
"There was a pandemic, lockdowns, disruptions to the economy, joblesses etc., oh don't worry, gamers will still buy games even with the elevated price"
A few moments later...
"Oh noooooo! All of us are experiencing lower turnovers. How can this be? Why aren't gamers buying games or gaming hardware? Are gamers over?"
Can I just thank the brave souls who read this review and then summarised it for me, so that I don't have to give this rag a click. Thank you, kind souls. It looks like Sifu is the game to get.
PS: When did thesixthaxis get so bad. Did they lose writers and drag some homeless people off the streets of LA to do their reviews, because I used to remember them actually having a decent eye for games and a good understanding of what a game review is actually about. No, it'...
It's Polygon, if only their writers can stop getting in their own way, their high-concept ambitions of being an intellectual video game site would be realised... instead, we get pseudo-intellectual bunk from someone with an associates or bachelors in Critcal Indonesian Marxist Basketweaving lamenting about how hard a game is.
I really appreciate it that there are brave souls who'll go the extra mile for their brothers and sisters on N4g and read a polygon review. It saves me the click because usually, I know their reviews are trash, and your summary is pretty much what I would expect from one of their reviews. So, in a nutshell, this is a game to get.
cogconnected is really trying hard; I have to hand it to them, they're probably one of only a handful of sites that seem to be excited about the reboot. Sadly, that trailer left a foul taste in my mouth, it's everything I hate about current year, from the obnoxious zoomers, to the "hairstyle", to the "hair colour", to the forced diversity, the now tired trope of the "black nerd" which honestly is just as offensive and lame as the loud A-train behemoth. Bu...
Or Professor Genki
Lol, TLOU 2 was a dumpster fire. As hard as you're mining copium, nothing will change what an utter pile TLOU 2 was. If you enjoyed it good for you, but the rest of us will still laugh at the amount of cope that comes from Naughty Dog stans.
My problem is that after watching the trailer, it felt more like dlc to watchdogs 2, then Saints Row. It's a misfire of epic proportions. Just tonally completely wrong. It's like they learnt nothing from agents of mayhem, which should have been a lot better than what they served up.
When you don't understand what made the originals appealing, you end up with this reboot. These new characters are just plain annoying, and I'm getting Def Jam Icon vibes, where the appeal of the Def Jam games were forgotten to create a real stinker.
This reboot looks like a huge stepbackwards. It's not even Saints Row, it's wannabe Watchdogs 2 with annoying zoomer characters. Where's professor Genki, a purple D1LDO, OR Johnny Gat?
This sort of argument always comes from game reviewers who usually get their games for free. Of course, it makes sense for them to have shorter games. It means they can review more and get paid more. For the rest of us, who pay $70 for a game, a shorter game is the last thing I want. At least, if it's intended to be short allow for replayibility. But, otherwise, this sort of argument can go die in a fire.
Terrible website, atrocious "review" 4/10
But the real question all the game journos in 2021 wants to know is... what are their pronouns?
One is a real game... the other... a pyramid scheme.
