It's EA Partners.

It's like The Orange Box and Rock Band. EA won't own the games made by these two... EA are just a glorified sales team for the latest West and Zampella project/

Exclusives are meaningless. Wii has the most exclusives.

But I disagree with the PC argument. A competant gaming PC will set you back £400-450, and will need upgrading after a year. If I want to play Left 4 Dead or Mass Effet, I will not waste my money on a PC that will be outdated in such a short timespace.

But then this argument is pointless. Sony and Microsoft have roughly the same amount of studios. So they have roughly the same amount of exclusives. <...

Left 4 Dead 2 got in the Top 10 Charts in the UK. This is either a promotion or a misprice. In the UK there is a lot of retail competition, so retailers constantly try to undercut eachother.

Modern Warfare 2 is £15 at Zavvi on Monday. That's not struggling. FIFA was under £25 in the UK on launch, and that's one of the biggest releases of the year.

A bit too business-like for me. But interesting stuff about price, can we expect more higher prices form Activision then?

Ghost Recon 4 was announced in April this year. It'll be annoying if they announced it again.

Sony don't own the Beatles music...

EMI handle the licensing.

Rock Band is expensive, and SingStar has such a huge following on PS3.

What's the point of drums in a Beatles game anyway (sorry Ringo)

This could be Sony's biggest Christmas game.

Nintendo need the core gamer. It was its core fanbase that carried it through the tough N64 and even tougher GameCube days. If casual gamers were to find their fix elsewhere... then what will Nintendo have to fall back on if they frighten off all their fanbase?

There are plenty of core games on Wii, some really quality gems too. But core gamers will get a lot more out of a 360 or PS3. A Zelda game every three years, with a Mario or Metroid game inbetween just isn't enough for m...

I guess it didn't get a perfect score because they are re-releases, with little added graphical flare. And they were hardly perfect.

Still going to pick up a copy though. So much game play in them, and I never properly got round to finishing any of them.

Resident Evil Archives got 70... again, just re-releases of older titles... but they are well worth it, and some of the best examples of old-school Resi yet.

I wish Capcom would actually make a pro...

I hate Pachter.

I don't mind him having opinions... hell, he's educated to some extent. But the fact is, he uses the media, says outlandish things, in order to get more retail and publisher clients.

He uses the games press for his own glorious PR vehicle. I love that certain websites refuse to cover Pachter stories for this very reason.

Well, well, well...

I wonder if those who insulted Activision for rising the price of Modern Warfare 2 will remember the time they gave a game away for FREE during the same period.

You have a point, a lot of core Wii games have flopped.

Still, Twilight Princess sold 4.2 million (not as much as usual, I admit), Red Steel sold around 2 million, Resident Evil 4 sold 1.5 million, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles sold 1 million and House of the Dead this year did well, and Metroid Prime is nearing 2 million with the re-release. Don't know No More Heroes off the top of my head, but I gather it did okay.

Of course there's been just as many hardcore ...

What upsets me the most is that it is games I actually want that has gone up in price.

Oh well. I'll still pay it.

Activision making more money on Call of Duty means they can spend that money making better games and new IP.

Activision is about to take risks on new games, Blur, Singluarity, DJ Hero etc... new IP is dangerous business, just ask EA.

So they raised a games price by £5. It's not going to make much difference to you. But will big a really big boost to Activision, who can use that money to fund even more new games and fund an even better Modern Warfare 3.

They are threatening to drop the PS3 because they have the power to make things happen. Biggest publisher in the world making more profit than the rest.

And Guitar Hero. And their movie licenses, and its Bond franchise, and its World of Warcraft.

I say three cheers for Kotick for giving us some really innovative new games, such as DJ Hero, Singularity and Blur. Sure he's raising prices, but he's doing it so he can keep making new games.

And I'd pay £70 for Modern Warfare 2 and feel good about it.

Whoa, there's as many top games coming to 360 as PS3 and Wii... Forza, Halo, Shadow Complex, Left 4 Dead...

And why can't 360 gamers look forward to multiformat games?
