No, I didn't miss the point. GameStop, just like any retail outlet, can charge whatever they want for a product. Once the product is owned by them (which it is, upon a customer trading it in), GS could charge $100 for the used game if they wanted. OP knew there was DLC (which some may not...) so good for him. He got his answer the first time when the employee basically told him he isn't missing content. And since when is LAUNCH DISC DLC considered to be less than full content? There...
Instead of trying to save $5 and prove how intelligent you are by getting in a a battle of wits with a minimum wage worker, just buy the game new and get it over with. If you're willing to spend $55 on a game, the extra $5 isn't going to throw your family into financial ruin. If it is, you should really re-evaluate what you're spending $55 on. Get over yourself. You outsmarted a GameStop employee and wrote a blog on the internet about your intellectual conquest, congrats bro.
To stray from the common MGS theories how about the release of GoldenEye that's been rumored as a holiday bundle?
Moderation people.
@Danteh
I'm in the couldn't care less type category and clicked on the article because regardless if I'm going to play this game, the history of the development cycle, hype and technological knowledge put forth to create this game makes this more a part of the video game culture. Only reading articles that you're interested in/already agree with leads to a one track mind. I'm not flaming you, I'm just trying to explain that I'm not a fanboy troll. ...
@akiraburn
Clearly, you are not familiar with Blizzard's development time line if you think that much would come out in such a short period. ;)
Why this article is off the mark: the majority of the points require money, which presumably older gamers have more of than the average 13 year old. Putting DLC on your credit card or pre-ordering a game after a stop at the ATM would seem to be an easier task that asking for/stealing mom's plastic.
Hope I'm not in one of those open areas and my horse explodes on me...
How about they're all predominantly Japanese made titles...
@djfullshred
Respectfully, I completely disagree with your point. Most candidates for jobs today are very equally qualified that intangibles (in this case, how well you'd fit in with the workplace) are more important than ever. Questioning an interviewer's quality of questions is never a good idea if you plan on getting the job.
If this story is true, it's awesome. The Alliance player probably got pwned "South Park" style and has some issues going on. :)
But can you steal different kinds of horses?
"German independent films" AKA hardcore porn.
Rumor has it this is affecting people running Win7x64 only. Are you running this?
Installing this driver, regardless of what you are using, will disable the fan and cause your card to overheat. I am running Win7x64; reports are this is the only OS affected.
Getting my PC to the point being able to uninstall was SO much fun.
Dropping 1 point in a day cannot be attributed to firings. Stocks fluctuate like this all the time.
Who runs this high of resolution???
Extra discs = higher production costs
DLC = extra profit
Don't let Capcom's "weeping" fool you.
Weep, as in, cry from joy?
Regardless of the percentage of profit, developed product is going to be sold after the fact. It's not changing the tagged price of $60, it's only going to increase the total cost of the "full" game.
And, to everyone who is using this as a "M$ needs blu-ray" argument... While it might be advantageous to the consumer (i.e., you) at least call it what it is - and that's brilliant strategy by M$!
Only using DVD...
First off, I am a little bit dumber for reading this article.
However, here's what I don't understand in this installment of "Fanboy Goes Wild". Everyone who takes a side in this Forza/GT argument, don't you realize that this is what makes these games great? If you're a GT lover, don't you think that Take 10's arrogant remarks only are going to make the developers of GT work that much harder? And if you're a Forza fan, don't you think GT's reputation and time commitment...
I agree with the reviewer, this game was perfection for it's time. Just because it's a rerelease doesn't mean it should be held to today's standards of gaming. It's not like we'll go back in 40 years time and change GTA IV's scores because it wouldn't translate to that time's consoles. This game, on the SNES is what made the FF franchise viable in North America. FF7 would not have been as popular as it was if FF6 (3 in NA) didn't lay the ground work. It...
