They'd never do that unless they went back to a dual screen system setup, even then they may not support backwards compatibility. They'd rather sell the games again digitally.
The Soyny bias of this site's userbase is really coming out, you just states the obvious fact that Mario 64 was and is universally praised higher, and rightfully so.

Nah, I mean sure, new ones too, but NGC was the peak for several franchises. Zelda, Mario Kart, Metroid, Smash, etc. They need to be remastered and given modern features and new content. Like put Melee online and include cut content.
I know, that's why it bothers me. How many times are we going to have to pay extra for Chrono Trigger? They are blatantly milking fans. It's not a deal breaker by any means, just greedy and dumb.
