I use to work for Sony in a marketing role, tbh, Sony knows they suck at software as their 1 TV with HDMI 2.1 from last year still doesn’t support VRR.
When it came to taking about TV updates we had an internal joke that SONY was an acronym. It stood for Soon Only Not Yet. So what I’m saying is……it’s gonna be awhile lol

Means a lot actually. When you are the console leader it means you are far more likely to work deals for third party exclusives or timed exclusives. When you are behind it becomes harder and more expensive.
If Sony runs away in console sales again I’d expect to see a tailor made Games Pass for PS5 as MS wouldn’t ignore that kind of money.

Just so you know 3D was only a big thing because of Avatar (still the best 3D movie ever made). Avatar literally changed the entire TV market with 3D TVs becoming a thing.
The reason Avatar is so special is because it’s a launch point for some incredible tech and filming techniques.

I suspect this will still eventually come to Playstation. It may take a long ass time, but a Playstation version of this game already exists at some level. I just don’t think it’s coming anytime soon but it is coming.
Look, the transition from one gen to another is really different this time around. Typically engagement on a console drops heavily around the end of its run and then a new console drops.
This time it’s different. When Sony made the “we believe in generations” comment we were barely into Covid and the first lock down. In May 2020 we learned Horizon 2 would be multi plat with a few others. Now it’s almost a year later and we know God of War will be multi play.
What’s funny is this isn’t some exclusive deal MS has on XBox. Dolby Vision can’t be made exclusive, doesn’t work that way. Just Playstation isn’t implementing it and I most TVs won’t even take advantage of it.

Question for you. Considering the speed of the SSD in PS5, the disk would only act as a “CD Key” as reading data off a disk would be too slow. So if physical installs the whole game on the SSD like a digital version would, is there really a difference? Out side of maybe putting your cases in a bookshelf what does physical really do for you?

That wasn’t always the case. Just look back to the PS3 launch. The difference is Playstation learned from their mistakes where XBox continues to trip over the same song and dance time and time again.

I’ve said it before and I’ve said it many times, the biggest problem with XBox as a brand is Phil and company talk too damn much. They literally talk themselves into a corner and out their backs against a wall and it’s all their own doing.
And I hate to bring Sony into this but just look at the stark contrast between the two. It wasn’t all that long ago people were all over Sony for being quiet and not saying a lot, but it actually worked out so well because they didn’t set...
It’s all part of getting Spidey into the MCU. Like it or hate it, Sony is absolutely leveraging its entertainment IP rights to the advantage in other divisions. It’s a smart move.
Gamespot really seems to have an axe to grind with Sony lately. Kind of sick of these websites honestly. Wether it’s Gamespots add filled garbage site, IGNs clickbait and misrepresenting titles, to Polygons crusades to make their opinions transpire to facts. I’m just done.

Not sure what point you are trying to make.
It was my job to take what they made and market it to people. I’m just telling you Sony has never been good internally at software. It’s why they partnered with Google to bring Android to TVs because they were losing to Samsung and LG in Smart TV UI and functionality.
