I disagree and here is why. You are only thinking about how multiplat games were THIS gen.
Multiplat games didn't differ much this gen because the more powerful system was also the system that was more difficult to develop for.
When the PS2 and Xbox were competing, the Xbox was more powerful and easier to develop for. Because of that, developers more often than not took advantage of that and multiplat games almost ALWAYS looked better (by a lot) on the Xbox.

The year start is not the only reason. Yes it helped, but because of hardware shortages, the first year is never a huge boom in sales for any company. Sonys high price gave them even lower sales the first year - two years of the console being out. That combined with the year head start gave MS the huge lead.
That blonde chick is his fiancé. (Cliff that is)
At this point, I'm not really interested anymore. Guild Wars 2 is around the corner and it seems to be doing more interesting things.
This generations longer life cycle has really screwed with developers. That is why we are seeing things like next gen engines before the next gen consoles are even announced. It takes years of development and planning to release a new game engine. This prolonged generation is not good for the industry.
the pictures were updated with better ones from the video. Give it another look.
Wasn't from Epic. It used the Unreal 3 engine. I don't know what happened to it.
Loving the bonus track
I have a feeling, it was more of:
-Demon's Souls: "ugh, we have an unproven new title, high risk, but Sony is willing to take the brunt of that risk in exchange for exclusivity. Done and Done.
-Dark Souls: Wow Demon Souls did way better than we could of hoped for. Lets make more money and not have to share high profit margins with an exclusive publishing deal! Drat, have to change the title.
-Dark Souls PC: Seems we have demand for a PC version guys! ...
The tablet costs almost as much as the system by itself to manufacture. That is going to drive up the cost of the system by a lot. This may also give Nintendo a reason to lower the specs of the Wii- U to get the systems price down.
It might work better but there a few devs who would risk developing a game that required both systems. They would be limiting their potential sales market by a ton.
@BOOM Epic has done a lot to optimize the latest build of UE3 that was used to show off the Samaritan video. They plan to eventually have it running in flash.
The power you get out of the graphic cards on a computer is less optimized than what you get out of the same hardware on consoles because there a lot less overhead from the OS and generally more direct and often faster routes of transferring data between memory and cpu.
Anyways, you will get better performance out of 67...
Unreal 4 engine really is leaps and bounds better looking than the Samaritan demo. When it is finally shown to the public, people will truly get an idea of what the next gen has in store.
Xenoblade Chronicles.
It's funny to me how things change each generation. When the PS1 and PS2 were out, the system was known for the best 3rd party lineup. Now the people who praise the console want to ignore how important 3rd party games are to a console. Even the multiplatform ones are important.
I hope that Sony continues to have great 1st party games, but I hope they don't do anything that causes them to lose 3rd party support. An easier development platform would very much help that and that...
"i'd say i'm in disbelief at andibandit's comment...but that's par for the course for most ppl on this website. people are simply willfully ignorant. they LOVE not knowing anything. it allows them to make blind statements like that. reminds me of liberals. "UNCHARTED 3 IS THE BEST LOOKING GAME OF ALL TIME!" "MAN MADE GLOBAL WARMING IS A SCIENTIFIC FACT!" "
At first I was like "YEAH", but then I was like "WOH". ...
I'm in the closed beta. The game just isn't fun.
I've seen the unreal 4 tech demo. I know what computer hardware it took to run it. It is flat out amazing and better than anything seen today. They fully expect the next consoles to be able to run it.
Consoles hold back PC tech. This is known. PC owners should be clambering just as much for the new consoles as the consoles owners because once they are out and running Unreal 4 games, you are going to see a MASSIVE leap in graphics on PC as well.
I guess people don't read articles. Epic didn't say Apple would beat consoles if they weren't bleeding edge.
"This is why we did Samaritan and why we're doing a really high-end demo in the room here. We really are pushing these guys, because if they don't, Apple will go right past them."
He is referring to tech. He means if the next consoles don't push hardware specs, other companies that don't even make gaming their number one priority wi...
Epic should be there tonight.
