Microsoft is shutting down GFWL in July. Any game that doesn't patch it out by then will be useless. You WON'T be able to play a game that requires the authentication servers.
It's the same thing with the 24-hour check-in and always-on. They are DRM services that can completely stop a game from being useful several years after its release, that's what XiSasuke was saying.
Yep, totally agreed.
An "all digital future" is a pipe dream at best. It won't happen until maybe the generation after the next one.
There's supposedly more than 6 million people on right now all trying to get stuff. I don't really know of any service capable of handling that many people at once (pulling massive load, anyway)
By a landslide? Dude the environments in FM4 and GT6 are night and day, with FM4 having a lot more detail all the way around. ALthough that's probably because GT6 has to account for the realtime day and night thing.
Yep, I gotta agree.
I agree. I played the PC version and it didn't look much different than the PS3 version other than slightly cleaner textures and of course, higher resolution.
So this is a fap game?
Yup, Nintendo is really getting it done. They will own 2014 for sure.
Nah, the video wasn't fake. It was captured by one of the most popular and legit streamers in the fighting game community, Team Sp00ky.
A lot of fanboys on Neogaf also don't get banned.
And besides, if you banned all fanboys there would be no gaming websites.
lol hardcore gaming websites only exist because of fanboys.
Maria now writes for Spawnfirst? lol, keeping the Xbone in check. Nice, nice.
Yup, trying to get in on the greatness before the government tries to ruin the fun.
Heck, they probably want a bunch of Xbones + Kinect 2.0 in peoples' homes just so they monitor them.
Steam lets you throttle your bandwidth... just saying.
Yes, they will suffer from it because AAA publishers will never stop being too greedy.
Wow, what an intelligent post. +1 Bubs
You explained this really well and made it clear why this is an issue and why this sort of DRM is intrusive.
It's scary how far some fanboys are going to protect Microsoft and their DRM practices.
It is good, the Dorito eaters are seeing the err of their ways.
It just needs that killer app, believe it.
OUYA 2014!
Dang, reputation management is out in full force to stomp down this news. Microsoft must have given out site-wide promotions to damage control reps to make sure the resurgence of their DRM doesn't make the console look any worse than it already does.
SMH
So you enjoy being interrupted mid-game so DRM can check your butthole to ensure you're not a pirate?
Got it.
What you say is true.
Comcast recently raised the price and took away my basic cable. So I'm basically just paying more money for internet and with a 250GB moderation limit. I now have to stream movies/TV which adds to my 250GB total. It's ridiculous.
I have to watch my bandwidth budget because downloading games from Steam can make it blast up really high, very quickly. There's no way I would be able to buy games for the XB1, PS4 and PC digitally ...
