I highly doubt you would need a GTX 980 to run this at 1080p and ultra. Maybe in 1440 or 2160p. 1080p is old news and outdated to PC gamers. I expect my GTX 970, which is over twice as powerful as a PS4, to run this just fine at 1080p/60Hz/ultra.

7-8 from Edge is my estimate.
5-7 from Polygon.
Average 8-9.

Really have high hopes for this game. It might finally convince me to purchase a PS4.

@GamePeace

I agree that Bloodborne will be scarier (by design), and I typically favor the gameplay of the Souls series over the Witcher series. I am not sure which will be the better game, but I don't think it will matter much; they will both be exceptional games in their own respects.

Adjectives*
Whoops. It pays to read over your comments before the edit option disappears.

("One general note about the use — or over-use — of adjectives: Adjectives are frail; don't ask them to do more work than they should. Let your broad-shouldered verbs and nouns do the hard work of description. Be particularly cautious in your use of adjectives that don't have much to say in the first place: interesting, beautiful, lovely, exciting. It is your job as ...

Witcher 2 in motion was beautiful, so I don't see any reason why this won't be. I think this game will be one of the best looking games we have seen (especially on a beastly PC rig). Extremely excited for this one.

Also, I have to comment on Abriael's choice of adverbs:
Oh, it's a scary tree! I'm afraid!

It's because the crew at Dualshockers lacks any semblance of creativity, so they use buzzwords, exclusivity, and an extremely limited array of unnecessary adjectives to get clicks.

That's the weirdest looking Viper I've ever seen. >.> It's almost as if it's another car. ;)

Bloodborne and The Witcher 3 are curiously absent from the article's list. :-/

There was no PR spoken. Merely fact: The Order: 1886's resolution is greater than 800p, and indeed even greater than 900p (Ryse).

No one is arguing that The Order is rendering in full 1080p, though the pixel density is equivalent--it just has has black 140 pixel bars on top and bottom (which does reduce the amount of pixels rendered by about half a million).

3425d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Wrong. 800p, a fictitious resolution, would be 1422x800 pixels, resulting in a pixel count of 1,137,600 pixels. The Order: 1886 runs at 1920x800 pixels, resulting in 1,536,000 net pixels. This is 35% higher than 800p. In fact, it has more pixels than 900p (1,440,000).

You also need Windows 8 or later for dx12, I believe. Fortunately, I am on Windows 8.1 (will get 10) with a DX12 native GTX 970.

Abriael, if you want people to take you seriously, cut it with attacking those who disagree with you in comment sections, quit the sensationalist titles, and scrap the verbose article titles that makes reading your article pointless.

That said, I agree the flak The Order has been getting is largely undue. It is among my most anticipated of the upcoming PS4 releases.

Same here. I'll get a PS4 for exclusives, but everything else will be on my custom rig.

I will also be adding another card for SLI GTX 970s eventually. It's an exceptional card in terms of the power:cost ratio. A single one runs basically all games at 1080p, highest details at over 60FPS.

It's onboard RAM (DDR3/4). Even my brand new GTX 970 only has 4 GB GDDR5.

3453d ago 5 agree0 disagreeView comment

I have 16 GB (with the option of 32 in the future), so I'm all good. Also have a GTX 970 and i7 4770. Really excited for this game!

Don't give this poor excuse for a website any hits.

Frosty, you should acquaint yourself with the symbol "~," which means approximately. When something over twice as powerful in single becomes approximately 4 times as powerful in SLI, that shows that I implied a diminishing return, which benchmarks confirm with about a 1.8x performance gain. My credibility remains intact, not that it pertains to the point in the slightest.

Edit: confirmed

I spent $1350 for these components (not bothering with brands, but they are reputable):

16 GB DDR3 RAM
4 GB GDDR5 GTX 970
2 TB HDD (SSD later)
Core i7 4770
DVD drive
Motherboard
Mid tower
WiFi card
750 W PSU
Extra case fan
24" LED monitor
Windows 8.1

It goes without saying that I spent a lot more than a console, but I wanted a top tier computer that can multitask on m...
