So, you can't think of a better way to express your dissent other than mocking those who disagree with you? Have you considered well-articulated rebuttals? It works for me.
The issue is more complex than you're giving it credit for. I choose not to engage in us-v-them politics while most people in today's society pick a side then proceed to sling insults (sometimes under the guise of "jokes") until everyone is miserable as a result. I'd rather not take part in that cycle while attempting to show people that there's a third option on top of left or right - refusing to contribute to the cesspool that is modern discourse.
It's blatantly clear at this point that you're not even reading my replies so what is the point? Perhaps you are reading them but don't comprehend them? Either way, the futility is palpable.
Oh, I fully understand the joke. I wouldn't have replied if I didn't. I'm simply offering a rebuttal to jokes of that nature in general because they're destructive as they only serve to deepen the divide and legitimize conspiracies. Both of those things are undeniably damaging to society and should not be normalized. But I think it's too late for that. Division and deception are essentially ingrained in the social fabric at this point.
It all starts by someone "joking". Then, people eventually adapt to the "joke" and start actually believing it to be reality. That's how meme culture works. I've seen many online communities start as a "joke" to make fun of some line of thinking only for them to gradually turn 180 degrees years later. It's an odd phenomenon to say the least.
