If you're looking for open world games, then Just Cause 2 looks promising. I've been looking forward to it for a long time.
Call me evil, but the first thing I did when I saw a horse was try to kill it. I was just a little disappointed when, after slashing it a bunch of times, it just fell over and got up again.
That was my only real gripe with horses :P
How long did it take you? Did you skip the cutscenes? What difficulty did you play it on? Did you go for a non-lethal/no alert playthrough? The length of the game can vary greatly depending on how you play it.
First time through MGS4 took me just under 20 hours. U2 took me about 12-15, so I doubt you've ever played the game.
As long as Kojima continues being Japanese, Japan will continue be a video game superpower :)

UC2 came out over a year after MGS4. Let's see how UC2 compares if Kojima were to release a new game a year from now.

When anything dies in GOW, their physical body immediately descends into Hades. That is why they "disappear" so soon. If you look closely, I think you can even see hands from Hades dragging the body into the ground.
