Or maybe I just didn't like it?
I shouldn't need to play the first game though. I mean, the story is "kill Nazis"; it's not high art. If the gameplay is the same, then I wouldn't have liked the first game either.
And the thing is, the game isn't that hard until you hit certain arenas. Shooting itself is easy, and every time the game gives you a big gun, it gets easier still. It's just those difficulty spikes.
Wonderful read, sir.
Solid review. Shame the game is so much easier than the others. Legendary solo doesn't mean as much when your AI don't suck.
60fps has become the new pissing contest. It's great--and IMO, required--for pvp style multiplayer, but if I'm just shooting at AI aliens...I don't see the harm in dropping to 30 fps. I did plenty of World of Warcraft raids at sub 30 fps just fine. I think I'll be alright with a console shooter that has loads of aim assist built into it.
If there's one thing I've learned about gamer temper tantrums, it's that they can get results. Certainly if Mass Effect's ending can be changed, split-screen coop can be added back. I'm pretty sure it still exists for the actual multiplayer, just not the single player.
Here's hoping.
343 have said their engine cannot go below 60 fps with the way everything has been designed. I've asked my brother about this, who is a programmer, and he said something akin to, "It's possible to do that, but really stupid."
So who knows. I hope it's a valid option sometime down the road.
MMOs are finicky, especially when they try and work major narrative elements into themselves. "I am a hero who defeated a dragon and saved the world" says I as I slowly fly in a circle looking for ore to mine so I can build a dumb thing I don't need.
Because that's what a hero does.
"I killed the dragon. Did you know that?"
"Nope. Can you kill them six kobolds for me? I don't like them. They smell funny."
I'm one of the people working on the game and will hang around to answer questions if anyone has any.
Wow, under an hour? That sounds like a pretty big problem when there are cheaper, longer, and better games on the market.

Wow, that's a lot of customization. Go Bungie.
It seems like GoG is the only store in place with actual quality control. Still hoping to get my indie game on Switch before the bubble bursts or the gates close though.
