Maybe this is true but I think that in this case it is safe to doubt this article based on conflicted statements given directly from sources such as Bethesda, From Software, and Nvidia, as opposed to rumors and speculation from the venture beat article that was full of holes and naivete when in comes to the CPU architecture.
That's where the portability option comes into play. If you want to be able to play those same games while on the bus or during breaks you have to buy them for the NS. That might be enough to sway consumers to get multi plats on NS
Although the Wii U isn't selling as good as the other consoles or even very well at all, Nintendo still made a profit from it. So they aren't losing any of the profit they made from the Wii
But are the developers the ones distributing the games or is that Nintendo's job? Is price of distribution even a factor for developers?
If they want to sell more copies of TPHD they should reveal a little bit more information of ZeldaU and what exactly the data from the Wolf Link Amiibo will do in the new title. This would push more people over the edge up indecisiveness on whether to buy it or not.
I feel Kimishima may be getting more credit than he deserves here. He was only just made president and the plans for the NX have been in the works for years. He does sound like a forward thinking gent and I like him, but Iwata definitely deserves more than he is getting, or at least he doesn't deserve some of the flack that has been implied by some.
If the NX does turn out to be a hybrid of sorts for home console and handheld gaming this is likely the way they'll go.
I say bring it on! It's a very Nintendoesque way to go. I'm willing to pay more for it too.
