Had nothing to do with the old games, combat, story, "missions" = go there, get that, bring here, everything was dull, and playing the sidequests did nothing for the main story. Completing them was more of a chore.
Calling a monotonous game great is overdoing it, glad you enjoyed it there's plenty of simple rpgs with no depth for you to play. :)
