I always felt that 13-2 fixed a lot of what 13 did wrong. Story was a bit crazy but I regard it as a solid Final Fantasy title.
Whereas I regard 13 as a decent game but a sub-par Final Fantasy.
It's a mobile game. Equating that with being a gamer is like saying someone is a professional athlete because they played little league when they were 9.
It's not a knock on GO, but the majority of these folks won't be playing anything else.

Being able to play with your friends at any point far outweighs any downside to this so-called "issue". It has zero effect on any player outside those directly involved except in a single instance: where you invade a player and now have to deal with his higher level friend. In which case, the invader risks nothing for invading regardless. You still can't be invaded by higher level players yourself.

You lose the ability to have your opinion matter when you say FF14 ARR is a great game.
People generally don't like FFX-2 because the story was meh. I would think that is the main draw to final fantasy games, so even though dresspheres were pretty good as a battle system it doesn't really make up for it.
If I'm giving my own personal opinion.. I really liked the non-happy ending of FFX and didn't really need the storybook closure in X-2.

Don't sweat it. While it may LOOK like a Final Fantasy game now, apparently three years, local datacenters, and a relaunch wasn't long enough for the developers to figure out how to fix the games lag.

Article/rumors aside: If the PS4 was looking better, why is the scale tilted in favor of XBOX? I don't think he understands how a scale works, and put the PS4 in the higher position.
I don't disagree with the OPs sentiment, but the vast majority of games he used to support his argument are either mobile games or on the Wii. That doesn't mean they should be disregarded, but that's not exactly at the forefront of gaming like a major PS3 release is.
