There was at least one console with two different Hardware specs. You could buy a RAM expansion pack for the N64 taking it from 4MB to 8MB, if i remember correct certain games needed it to run while others just upped the graphics....N64 was mint.
Neither console has a particularly strong CPU, insecure Master-racers like to remind us of this at every opportunity.
What they forget to mention is how nice the games can look on consoles due to the Devs optimizing for the Hardware available, they do this because that's where the money is.
We all know PC's can be far more powerful in raw numbers but consoles always punch above their weight, for some reason this seems to offend certain PC gamers...not...
I'm no expert but isnt an Alpha just a cheap wide spread test environment to help the Devs get the game together, surely that's a good thing isn't it?
If you don't like buggy id wait until release, even then there'll be patch's to follow.
Not a big deal for me at least, i will buy this game eventually but this Christmas will be dominated by Battlefront, COD Zombies & (on current form) The Witcher 3...still!
Looking at what's being released for PS4 over the next 6 months or so i'm not that bothered about our year long wait - you can only play so many games!

Nobody I know complains about the PS+ instant game collection. We get about 4 or 5 games per month for £40 a year, along with cloud storage and store discounts.
I imagine the skinflint's unhappy with this deal are that tight they can peel an orange in their pocket.
My PS4 fan seems to enter "harrier jump jet" mode when paused or sat at menu screens for the most part, ive been informed its due to the games having uncapped frame rates.
You can't see the difference because its running in Youtube quality.
Even though we have seen this in the past (PS3 catching up on 360 sales) i dont think it will happen this time around.
I'm not sure PC API development will have any detrimental effect on console gaming. Sorry haters - try again.

The ambient temperature of the room seems to effect the fan speed on mine, although it is sat next to a furnace disguised as an AV receiver...should probably move it.
