Hey guys, I appreciate all the feedback on the list. Just to comment on some of the mentioning of Mass Effect, truthfully it didn't make the list because I have the least experience with that series versus all the others on there. I tried to at least mention it at the bottom along with a few other franchises, but I couldn't say much about it personally.
That being said, I still don't think Mass Effect "defines" this console generation much more (if any)...
The only opinions that matter are your own.
Personally, I think NG3 looks and sounds pretty sweet. I didn't like NG2 very much, but I loved the first one...I am really hoping the third one is a step up. I don't completely feel the same way as the author of this article but I definitely still agree with many of the points he makes.
The game did look great in 3D, I only played for an hour or so on a friend's tv, but was pretty impressed.
Still think the PS3 could do more with 3D, though...especially now that the 3DS is taking off, and games like Mario 3D Land are actually using depth as a factor in the gameplay...
It wasn't the controls that lost the points, it was a combination of the sloppy movement, issues with shooting and aiming smoothly, falling/getting stuck randomly, and somewhat repetitive gameplay after two similar, previous games.
I say an 8.5 is a great score - that's how it works on the GR.com scale, a 9 is just a little too high for me. As for UC2, I think it was a LOT better, at least the gameplay - maybe UC3 had some cooler scenes and new features, but I never h...
@josephayal - tried to stick with first-party characters, or characters that started off on the PlayStation.
Yeah...but with a sense of humor that is occasionally deprived of maturity, I still find it somewhat funny.
Fire Emblem's been announced =]
I didn't forget Smash, but they've already announced it, so I didn't include it on the list. I never played Mario is Missing =\
I thought about Mario vs. Donkey Kong 3DS, MvDK was a great GBA franchise.
Didn't think of that, but that would be another great pick!
@dgroundwater - I appreciate it. That's what I try to do with my review scale...use all 10 numbers. I think it only makes sense to do it that way, and gives the reviewer a lot more room to work with in finding the appropriate final score.
A score of 6.0/10.0 on our scale is given to "good" games that are generally worth renting or playing through for fans of the style of game in question. That's why it got the score that it got - it isn't a "great" game by any means, it's just very interesting to look at and stumbles around with really basic mechanics.
RABBLERABBLE it's a placeholder price, relax guys.
I didn't go out and search for Vita puns, I just came up with a few myself and I found myself amused by a few of the results.
Not trying to be the top comedian on here or anything, I'm sure there will be much better ones in the coming months. I look forward to them, because I tried to think of more, and decided just to have fun with it instead of trying to kid myself that I'm the most clever person around.
Me: shove it, buddy. =]
Obviously it's not meant to be taken seriously - at all.
Kindly troll under another bridge, where a sense of humor and appreciation for cheesy puns is not allowed.
Sounds to me like a lot of people agree with him, or at least the point that he made.
Agreed. I love DOA purely for its fighting mechanics, the obnoxious sexual aspect of it is too over the top for me.
They've been pretty quiet about it, I wouldn't be surprised. It's gonna be big at E3.
@Oschino1907, I stated in the first line of the entire review:
"Unless a new video game draws out a very positive or negative initial response from me, when it comes to critiquing them, I occasionally have some trouble putting my finger down on my final impressions."
What this means, if you look into it with less of your own ideas about the game clouding your judgment, is that I clearly do not have an overwhelmingly positive OR negative opinion abou...
You should definitely check out one of the PS2 Shin Megami games if you have never played before, Nocturne was one hell of a cult classic. SMT4 is actually a direct sequel to SMT3: Nocturne.
